Eastman Kodak Corporation announces a new ink system for film-to-fabric (DTF) printing projects.
Thin-to-fabric ink systems can be used in most improved inkjet printers and involve three simple components: powder, film, and ink. DTF's advantages are the same as Kodak's FTF (Film-to-Fabric) systems, including the ability to print on a wide range of fabrics such as natural fabrics, polyester, nylon, rayon, blended, and cotton; less start-up hardware investment; and more flexibility in accepting customer printing projects.

KODAK's film-to-fabric ink systems include KODACOLOR powder, KODACOLOR film, and inks specifically designed for film-to-fabric applications. Customers with existing direct garment (DTG) printers can choose to use KODACOLOR DTG inks with KODACOLOR film and powder to add KODAK FTF to their products.
Kodak's FTF ink system is the ideal solution for fabric printing shop owners who want to obtain high-quality fabric printing without using a proven DTG fabric printing system, or who want to provide their customers with additional printing projects for fabrics other than cotton.
Grant French, Product Manager, Kodak DTG and FTF, said: "We are pleased to announce Kodak's entry into this market, giving more customers access to high-quality, low-cost business options to create amazing printed fabric projects.
As early as the 1990s, Kodak has been producing and selling digital inks for thermoelectric and continuous inkjet systems, which demonstrates our continued commitment to the inkjet business. Kodak has a long history of innovation and excellence in the key technologies required to produce premium fabric inks and ink systems.
Fabric customization for clothing, accessories, upholstery, and soft signage is growing, which is an important business opportunity for Kodak in the FTF, DTG, and large format printer industries.
KODACOLOR products are manufactured in Rochester, New York, USA.
