At about 4 p.m., during the after-school care service hours of Yangpu Elementary School, several first-grade students were participating in the "Little Stream" Resilience Growth Club, and under the leadership of the teacher, they made thank-you cards one by one to express their gratitude to their parents.
The mental health of students cannot be ignored. When they first arrived at the new campus environment, many first-year students inevitably had fear and did not dare to express their thoughts. To this end, every Tuesday afternoon since this semester, the school has joined the "Little Stream" resilience growth club based on psychological counseling to help children find a sense of security and build self-confidence in the after-school care service.
At the same time, considering that some fifth-grade students have a situation of adolescent rebellion in advance, the school also opens a "Little Stream" resilience growth club for fifth-grade students every Wednesday afternoon to help children survive the rebellion of adolescence.
"The teachers of the Resilience Growth Club are all resident social workers of the school, and the format of the development is different for students of different grades. The first grade focuses on storytelling, while the fifth grade focuses on interactive games and role-playing. In the process, students learn to affirm themselves, seek help, regulate their emotions, and finally set goals. Jiang Weijia, deputy teacher of Yangpu Primary School, said.
15 "Little Stream" clubs enrich children's school life
In addition to the "Little Stream" Resilience Growth Club, after 3:40 p.m., other clubs set up for after-school care services in the Yangpu Elementary School branch are equally exciting.
The students of the "Little Stream" Folk Orchestra picked up ethnic instruments such as erhu, pipa, and guzheng, and under the direction of the teacher, performed one classic piece after another;
The students of the "Little Stream" Jumping Youth League practiced team leggings on the playground, shouting slogans and taking the same steps to the finish line;
The students of the "Little Stream" Color Clay Club used multicolored clay to pinch out various creative shapes, and the small clay contained the students' unlimited creativity...
It is understood that at present, the Yangpu Primary School Branch school combined with the school's special curriculum, according to the characteristics of students of all ages, a total of 15 "small stream" clubs have been opened, including choirs, folk orchestras, nine children's game troupe, dance clubs, color mud clubs, drama clubs, sunshine partner runs, etc. From Monday to Thursday, more than 6 clubs are guaranteed every day, starting at 3:40 p.m. and ending at 4:30 p.m. Through the development of a variety of club activities, to cultivate and improve the comprehensive literacy of students.
Homework care: Do not leave homework to parents
During this time of community activities, homework care work is also carried out simultaneously. Teachers enter the class and instruct students to complete their homework in school, trying not to let students take homework, let alone leave homework to parents.
From 3:40 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., after school care services are mainly student clubs and homework care, after 4:30 p.m., some students are picked up by parents one after another, and during the period from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m., Yangpu Primary School branch also opened evening care to solve the worries of parents who leave work late.
"Every day, after-school care services are attended by 527 students and 50 teachers. Every week, teachers also carry out individualized growth records of after-school care services and after-school care service club activities to ensure that the work is in place. Next, the school will also continue to enrich student clubs according to the special curriculum arrangement, develop students' personality and strengths, and promote students' physical and mental health.
