Apple: An updated Apple Developer certificate is now available

IT House February 3 news, yesterday, Apple said that developers can now update their Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Developer ID media certificates.

Apple: An updated Apple Developer certificate is now available

Apple Worldwide Developer Relations Media Certificate (G4)

APNs SSL certificates are now issued by a new media certificate specifically for APNs (Worldwide Developer Relations G4 sub CA). This certificate can be used to send push notifications to apps (including VoIP), complications, safari websites, and Apple Wallet passes.

Apple Developer ID Media Certificate (G2)

The digital certificates that developers use to sign software and installation packages on macOS are now issued by a new Developer ID media certificate that expires on September 16, 2031. A newly issued Developer ID certificate associated with a new media certificate can be used to sign software on Xcode 11.4.1 and later. If the developer is running Xcode 13.2 or later, the updated certificate will be automatically downloaded when the developer signs the software after January 28, 2022. If the developer is using an earlier version of Xcode, they can download the certificate manually or create a certificate that is compatible with the previous version of Xcode.

IT House understands that the developer's existing certificate will remain valid until it expires or is revoked, whichever comes first.
