On February 1, In response to the deliberation and adoption of the so-called "China-related human rights resolution" by the House of Representatives of the Japanese Diet, Yu Wenze, spokesman for the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress, made a statement. The full text is as follows:
On February 1, the House of Representatives of the Japanese Diet insisted on passing the so-called "China-related human rights resolution" in disregard of China's solemn representations. The above-mentioned practices of the Japanese side grossly interfere in China's internal affairs, seriously violate the basic norms of international relations and the principles of the four political documents between China and Japan, undermine political mutual trust between the two countries, and cause serious interference and damage to the improvement and development of Sino-Japanese relations. We resolutely oppose the Japanese side's political manipulation under the guise of "human rights." The Chinese side will certainly resolutely and forcefully respond to any evil act of attempting to interfere in China's internal affairs and harm China's interests.
Respecting and protecting human rights is an important principle stipulated in the Chinese Constitution. China adheres to the people-centered concept of human rights, and through the establishment and improvement of laws, regulations and institutional systems, the development of various national undertakings, the promotion of the implementation of the Constitution, the implementation of the principles and spirit of human rights protection stipulated in the Constitution, the full realization of citizens' political, economic, cultural, social and other rights, and the cause of Chinese rights has made great achievements that have attracted worldwide attention.
Chinese the state of the right, the Chinese people have the most say and do not need other countries to judge. What Japan should do is to deeply reflect on its own history and human rights shortcomings, rather than following other countries in hyping up China-related issues, maliciously smearing China, and arbitrarily interfering in China's internal affairs. Politicizing and instrumentalizing human rights issues is unpopular and doomed to failure.
