According to BBC statistics, in the past January winter transfer window, Premier League teams spent a total of 295 million pounds on transfer funds, which refreshed the second highest number in the winter transfer window in Premier League history.

In the 2022 winter window, Premier League teams spent a total of £295 million on transfers, which is the second largest in the history of the Premier League, after the 2018 Premier League winter transfer window. That year, Premier League teams squandered more than £400 million in the winter window for reinforcements.

The BBC also noted that the remaining four of the five major leagues, with the exception of the Premier League, spent a total of 380 million euros (about £317 million) in the winter window, just £22 million more than the Premier League.
