Stein: The Lone Ranger is exploring a lineup upgrade but has no intention of Schroeder

According to Marc Stein, the Lone Ranger is exploring an upgrade lineup, but according to sources, the use of trading exceptions to take down Schroder is not in Dallas' plan.

According to previous reports, the Green Army is willing to send Schroeder and Smart away. Schroeder's contract will expire at the end of the season with a salary of $5.9 million. The Lone Ranger currently holds a $11.9 million deal exception.

So far this season, Schroder has played 44 games for the Greens, averaging 30.4 minutes per game, 14.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 0.9 steals, shooting 35.2% from three-point range.
