Pattern meaning
The Square Victory Pattern is a pattern of two diamond-shaped shapes interspersed and stacked on top of each other. The original meaning of "fang" is two ships in parallel, emphasizing the juxtaposition. At the same time, the word "square" also represents regular forms such as squares and diamonds. "Sheng" was originally an ornament for ancient Chinese women to tie their hair or match their waists, and later people called the scarf rings that were stacked on top of each other after the hat as "ersheng rings", "double victories", "double stacks wins", etc., so Fang Sheng is also called stacked victories.
The structure of the square victory pattern is intertwined and tightly linked, so it is also called concentric square victory, symbolizing the loyalty and friendship of the heart to the heart, and the meaning of one heart and one mind, the same boat.
Artifact prototype
The Palace Museum in Beijing has a black lacquer depicting a golden landscape pattern Fangsheng-style disk, QingQianlong, plate open, oblique abdomen micro-drum, flat bottom, low circle foot. The whole body is painted black for the ground, and the gold paint is painted with patterns. The inner insole is painted with distant mountains and near water, embankments, small bridges, courtyards, pavilions, and one person swinging boats on the water. The golden color of the mountain stone and embankment is faint and faint, and it is painted using the "colored gold statue" technique. The inner wall is decorated with floral brocade patterns, which plays a role in setting off and foiling the landscape of the panxin. The outer wall is decorated with chrysanthemums, plum blossoms, peony flowers, orchids and other cluster patterns, commonly known as "leather ball flowers", which is a common decorative pattern in the Qing Dynasty court. In the middle of the bottom of the plate, there are gold "Qianlong Year System" two sides of the frame book, around the chrysanthemum, peony and other flowers. Depicting gold lacquer patterns on the black lacquer floor can produce a graceful and luxurious visual effect, exuding a strong court atmosphere.
Lacquer craft is one of the oldest traditional handicrafts in China, a lacquer bow dating back 8,000 years was found at the site of the cross-lake bridge, and a lacquer bowl from 7,000 years ago was excavated at the Hemudu site, and then experienced the continuous development of lacquerware technology, the variety of lacquerware is increasingly rich, and it is still continued to be produced with the characteristics of luxury and implicit compatibility.
