The collection of essays, How Silent the Night is, was published

"This is a small self-summary of my 10 years of literary creation, but I hope this book can record my stumbling steps as a beginner in literature on the road of creation..." On January 27, talking about her first collection of essays that she had just published, Yang Xiaoshuang, a young female writer of the Tujia family in Jiangjin District, had a sincere face.

Yang Xiaoshuang is a "post-90s" medical worker, a Tujia family, and a member of the Second People's Hospital of Jiangjin District and the Jiangjin District Writers Association. "Tujiamei" and "post-90s", these two seemingly unrelated "labels", concentrated on Yang Xiaoshuang, forming a "contrasting" "aura". In her own view, she is just a "little youth" who loves to entrust her leisure time to words, in her pen: mountains, rivers, night, children, far away, poetry and nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia,

Nostalgia, nostalgia, etc., are transformed into prose works with deep feelings, which have both the scenery of the landscape on all sides and the style of the Tujia hometown. Since Yang Xiaoshuang published her debut novel "Father's Back" in 2013, the "door" of her literary creation has been opened, and in the past ten years, more than 200 large and small works have appeared in the magazine "National Literature" and "Chongqing Evening News".

As a medical worker, the difficulties of amateur literary creation can be imagined. Yang Xiaoshuang used all his spare time to use the pen in his hand to pick up the text like a needle, sewing a gap in a young life, filling or recording the memory of a Tujia girl in the countryside. An old house, fluttering a few wisps of cooking smoke, attracting thousands of nostalgia...

In July 2021, the Jiangjin District Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Jiangjin District Writers Association elected Yang Xiaoshuang to participate in the first chongqing young writers advanced training class. Her enthusiasm for creation grew, while re-examining and revising the works she had published in the past decade, and in December 2021, Unity Press finally published her collection of essays, How Silent the Night is. This is her first collection of essays, containing more than 100 essays.

"How Silent the Night" includes nostalgia, folk customs, humanistic landscapes, etc., which are spread out in rows of text. "I have too many indelible memories of the countryside, and these memories are nothing more than the suffering of my parents, the muddy mountain roads, and the night with cover in the seasons... So I decided to give my childhood a home, and to give every child in the book a house where they could hold their memories. Yang Xiaoshuang positioned the work in this way.

Yang Xiaoshuang is currently the only ethnic minority writer in Jiangjin District. In 2014, she came to Jiangjin from a Tujia cottage in Xianyang County to work, using her spare time to start literary creation, over the years, she has been diligent in pen cultivation, active in creation, and achieved good results——" Pang Guoxiang, chairman of the Jiangjin District Writers Association, said: "Judging from these articles in "How Silent the Night is", Yang Xiaoshuang is a female prose writer in Jiangjin District who has a very promising development potential...
