The 2022 All-Star starting lineup is out, and the Warriors have point guard Stephen Curry and teammate Andrew Wiggins in the starting lineup.
Being named to the All-Star starting lineup is certainly nothing new to Curry's career, after all, Curry has had the vote to lead the league in the first two rounds of fan voting, but this season it is still lakers superstar LeBron James as captain.
Compared to Curry, Andrew Wiggins was named to the All-Star starting lineup as a surprise to fans. So far this season, Wiggins has indeed contributed 18.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2 assists per game, in addition to 48.1% shooting and 40.4% three-point shooting rate are career-high data performances, in addition to Wiggins also has a career-high 111 offensive efficiency and 106 defensive efficiency data performance.
Even so, Andrew Wiggins' inclusion in the All-Star starting lineup seems to be a disadvantage, after all, there are other players in the league who are far bigger than Wiggins and have better performances in the All-Star starting lineup. Truth be told, the players mentioned above have better reasons to be named to the Western Conference All-Star starting lineup, and of course, Wiggins' selection to the All-Star starting lineup is still the result of the votes of fans and players. Warriors coach Steve Kerr also talked about Wiggins' all-Star selection:
'It was one of my proudest moments as a coach and I'm happy to learn about what Wiggins did after joining the team.
Given Wiggins' efficient performances on both ends of the season so far, he does deserve his first All-Star starter spot in his career.
