Features of the global LCD TV panel market in December 2021:

--In the same month, the main panel manufacturer increased the factory turnover rate. With the exception of LGD and Sharp, shipments both rose sequentially.

--BOE, CSOT and HKC continued to rank in the top 3 and achieved double increases year-on-year, each setting record highs in single-month shipments. The total shipments of the three panel factories have accounted for more than 58%, and the leading edge in the global LCD panel market continues to expand.

-- BOE shipments exceeded 5.6 million units, up 51% year-on-year and 11% month-on-month, and the cumulative shipments for the whole year have exceeded 61 million pieces.

-- CSOT shipments exceeded 4 million units for the first time, up 39% year-on-year. It is worth noting that CSOT has performed well in the product range of 55 to 75 inches, with shipments of more than 2.3 million pieces, becoming the largest panel factory in this size segment, accounting for nearly 40%.

-- HKC shipped more than 3.5 million units, up 12% year-on-year. HKC has performed well in its product line under 50 inches, shipping more than 2.7 million units in the month, accounting for more than 20% of the market share in this size segment.

-- Taiwanese panel manufacturers Innolux and AU increased their shipments in December, corresponding to a 5% and 10% increase respectively, and a year-on-year decline of 26% and 12%, respectively. Among the product shipments of more than 85 inches, AU ranked first with more than 110,000 units in shipments that month, becoming the panel factory with the largest oversized shipments that month.

--Panel factory LCD TV panel business began to fall into losses in November last year, the first quarter despite the increase in demand for small size, but the panel factory turnover rate did not decrease but increased, so that January prices continued to show a comprehensive downward trend. Large sizes remained in a surplus due to sluggish overseas demand and reduced promotional efforts, but the price decline narrowed due to falling into the cost line. Detailed price data can be found in the "February LCD TV Panel Price Forecast and Volatility Tracking" released by RUNTO.
