Rolls-Royce Cars has created a unique Bespoke haute couture model , the Rolls-Royce Phantom "Youlan" Collector's Edition. The Rolls-Royce Phantom "Orchid" Collector's Edition is inspired by orchids – soft and rigid, beautiful and elegant. This creative theme also aims to pay homage to the indomitable spirit of our time. Orchids have long been a common theme in the arts, but for the first time a Rolls-Royce Bespoke Haute Couture model chose orchids as a design theme. Elegant and tough, the orchid is one of the most popular ornamental plants.
Rolls-Royce Bespoke Haute Couture
To create the extraordinary Rolls-Royce cars, the designers, craftsmen and artists in the Bespoke Haute Couture department of Rolls-Royce Motorhome collaborated to create this masterpiece over two years.
Michael Brighton, Chief Designer of Rolls-Royce Motors' Bespoke Haute Couture Division, said: "We have chosen Rolls-Royce's flagship model, the Phantom Long Wheelbase Edition, as the 'canvas' for this Bespoke Haute Couture model, to incorporate a harmonious and balanced and avant-garde design concept that is designed to be perfectly aligned with the values of the Singapore region. In Asia, orchids are a common element in people's lives, symbolizing a spirit of self-blooming, no matter how the environment changes. The Mirage is the only model in the world that owns the 'Art Gallery', where owners can display art, statues or other self-expression in the unique in-car space of the 'Art Gallery'. To preserve the delicate silk material and better represent the artwork, the Phantom Instrument area is covered by a single block of tempered glass. The interior is made of elegant white, cigar grey and dark grey with olive stitching to accentuate the Phantom's unique calmness. ”
Hand-carved art
Together with Helen Amy Murray, she was responsible for this groundbreaking haute couture design, the Phantom "ArtScape Gallery". The Rolls-Royce Phantom "Art Gallery" is a reinterpretation of the modern aesthetic design and the ultimate luxury concept of automotive instruments and interior panels.
Inspired by a variety of orchids, including Singaporean orchids, Helen and her team of six people spent more than 200 hours polishing and refining to complete this design masterpiece and art treasure.
British artist and textile designer Helen Amy Murray said: "The careful observation of real-life orchids made me quickly realize that color is the key to highlighting the essence of species. I have created works with orchid elements, but I think that the creation of the 'Art Collection Gallery' is more suitable for the realistic and evocative color treasures, which has prompted us to continuously improve our digital printing skills." "Murray's artworks are generally more neutral, often using the same color scheme. She adds: "It's exciting to be back to exploring color itself in the near future! ”
To create this artistic treasure, Helen Amy Murray first painted it by hand, then created an electronic version, and then beautifully printed the pattern on delicate silk satin. The final stage of this artistic creation is a meticulous hand-sculpture of the flowers, unfolding the layers of fabric to create a 3D stereoscopic effect.
The interior resembles an orchid secret
In the interior design of the Phantom "Youlan" Collector's Edition, Rolls-Royce Bespoke Haute Couture Designer John Ben Cutterite showed his outstanding talent. When the picnic table of the Bespoke Haute Couture Phantom "Orchid" Collector's Edition opens, you can see the elegant and charming orchid patterns emerging from its piano black panels.
Open the doors and the same theme of The Bespoke Haute Couture Glow Welcome Pedal awaits the occupants. At the same time, the cabin is painted in elegant and natural colours to create an atmosphere of soothing tranquility like an orchid sanctuary.
The exterior is extraordinary
To create this Mirage Bespoke haute couture model, Rolls-Royce applied the latest painting technology to create a unique paint for the Mirage.
Inspired by orchids, the body exterior is based on Arctic white, embellished with a hint of violet. Fine glass particles are incorporated into a special process to create a stunning pearlescent appearance. In bright light, the technology allows the paint to have a distinctive flickering effect and different visual effects at different angles.
The Phantom "Orchid" Collector's Edition incorporates a Bespoke haute couture motif inspired by orchids at the waistline of the body, echoing the theme of the vehicle design.
Cultivating an orchid takes patience and time, and creating a Rolls-Royce masterpiece also takes time and passion, but the final product will prove that it is worth waiting.
