Dr. Li Xiaolin's team of The Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences successfully domesticated pink fungus strains, enriching the variety of edible mushroom products and catering to the growing consumer demand. In 2021, Huimin County, by helping enterprises attract talents and wisdom, promoted the cooperation between Qifa Fruits and Vegetables and the team of Dr. Li Xiaolin of the Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and obtained the exclusive introduction right of pink fungus. After experimentation, pink fungus was successfully planted in Huimin County for the first time. The successful trial planting of pink fungus will further optimize and adjust the local edible mushroom industry structure, extend the industrial value chain, meet the diversified needs of the market, enhance the popularity and competitiveness of huimin edible mushroom products, and promote the development of the edible mushroom industry in the county and increase farmers' income.

Edible mushrooms are one of the leading agricultural industries cultivated in Huimin County, which has been cultivated in the county since the 1980s and began to develop on a large scale in 1995. In recent years, Huimin County has focused on optimizing the layout of the edible mushroom industry, promoting the cultivation of modern facilities, developing rare and characteristic varieties, cultivating and expanding leading enterprises in deep processing, and realizing the scientific development and leapfrog development of the edible mushroom industry. At present, the county's edible mushroom planting area of 9.95 million square meters, cultivated and formed a production demonstration base such as Qifa fruit and vegetables, Guanming mushroom industry, agricultural industrial park edible mushroom production demonstration garden and more than 10 varieties of shiitake mushrooms, white fungus, flat mushroom, golden needle mushroom, white spirit mushroom, black fungus, etc., formed 7 key edible mushroom production towns with Huji Town, Soap Household Li Town, Weiji Town as the mainstay, and successfully held the 2021 Shandong Taishan Science and Technology Forum - Edible Mushroom Industry High-quality Development Seminar. The county has 15 leading edible mushroom enterprises and 25 agricultural cooperative organizations, with a standardization productivity of more than 85%, 2 pollution-free products, 10 green products, 5 provincial agricultural standardization bases, 7 municipal agricultural standardization bases, and more than 100,000 employees in the county's edible mushroom industry. Huimin Shiitake mushroom was rated as 'China's Good Shiitake Mushroom' by the China Edible Mushroom Association. Huimin County has been awarded the honorary titles of 'China Edible Mushroom SpecialTy Base', 'National Edible Mushroom Industrialization Construction Demonstration County', 'National Advanced County for The Construction of Edible Mushroom Culture Industry' by the relevant departments of the state and province.
