I feel more and more that to be an accomplished artist, the "pedestal" should be bigger. This "pedestal" is the cultivation of all aspects. Therefore, when artists are young, it is beneficial to have more experience, more thinking, and more participation in social practice. Zhang Lei was young and had been working in the Art Museum of Hunan Provincial Academy of Painting for several years, in the process, he came into contact with many artists and theorists from the south to the north, and at the same time he also accumulated a lot of experience in the management of the art museum, which I thought would become his future wealth.
Zhang Lei is also a painter at the Youth Painting Academy of Hunan Provincial Academy of Painting. From the works, it can be seen that he is a very talented young artist. He is concerned about the cultivation of pen and ink, he intends to put every stroke in place, and pursue a sense of sophistication with pen and ink. From the overall picture, it also reveals a kind of literary atmosphere, even if it is from some sketches of the scene, which is very rare among young people. However, from the perspective of the entire artistic landscape, it is inevitable that there are some traces of learning and borrowing, and on the whole, it is harmless, which is an important part of the "base" of an artist's growth. I hope his artistic path is getting better and better!
