On Aug. 28, Chadwick Boseman, the actor of the Marvel movie "Black Panther," died of colon cancer at the age of 43.

Bosman's family made the announcement via his Twitter feed.
According to his family, Bosman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago and has been battling the disease ever since. But during his lifetime, he never spoke publicly about his condition. "Marshall," "Da 5 Bloods," "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, and many other films were shot between surgery and chemotherapy while Bosman endured illness.
"As a true fighter, Chadwick persevered, bringing many much-loved films to the audience."
Actor Chadwick Boseman, who played Black icons Jackie Robinson and James Brown before finding fame as the regal Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe, died at 43 on Friday after a four-year battle with colon cancer, his representative said.
Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his wife and family by his side, his publicist Nicki Fioravante said, according to The Associated Press.
Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago, his family said in a statement.
"It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman," reads the statement posted on Twitter.
"A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much," his family said.
"From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson's Ma Rainey's Black Bottom and several more – all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honor of his career to bring King T'Challa to life in Black Panther."
Boseman had not spoken publicly about his diagnosis.

In the 2013 film Legend 42, Bosman played Jackie Robinson, the first black athlete in the United States to enter Major League Baseball. This role allowed Bosman to make a name for himself in the film industry.

But what really made Bosman famous was the Marvel superhero movie "Black Panther", released in 2018, in which he played King T'Challa in the mysterious African country of Wakanda.
Black Panther grossed $1.3 billion worldwide and received seven Oscar nominations. In addition, "Black Panther" uses African-American actors and production teams, jumping out of the pattern of the previous African-American films showing the vulnerable groups, portraying the image of an African-American superhero, and is also known as one of the milestones of African-American films.
