Arsenal are preparing to loan Real Madrid star Jovic as an option for signings in the centre-forward position.
The news was initially reported by The Sun and subsequently confirmed by more reliable sources that Arsenal want a short-term loan for Real Madrid striker Jovic this month.
James Benge reported that Arsenal had offered Jovic a loan opportunity, and The Athletic confirmed that the Serbian shooter was in the gunner's sights.
According to The Athletic, Arsenal could consider Jovic as an alternative target for the centre-forward. They appreciate his tandem and finishing abilities, but aren't sure what he can defend.
Arsenal's front-line top choice is Vlahovic, but the Fiorentina goalscorer is expected to join Juve. The Gunners have other targets, but many of them may not be available this month.
Jovic, on the other hand, is a bit redundant at Real Madrid and could fill the gap in Arsenal's centre-forward in the second half of the season.
The 24-year-old goalscorer has played 432 minutes for Real Madrid this season, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists, scoring 2 goals for 257 minutes for Selvivia.
With a goal or assist in an average of 138 minutes, the stats aren't too bad, but the sample that can be referenced is too small. He clearly needs more playing time – whether at Arsenal or other teams.
Hopefully, he will be able to return to the form he was in when he played for Eintracht Frankfurt in 18-19, when his performances attracted real madrid's attention.
He scored 27 goals and six assists that season, including two goals against Chelsea in the Europa League semi-finals.
With Juve approaching signing Vlahovic, Arsenal have turned their attention to several other strikers.
According to reports in the past few days, with Juve making an offer, Arsenal's hopes of bringing in Vlahović in the winter window have been very slim.
Juve have long been considered vlahović's favourite option, so the news that they are willing to bid means Arsenal don't have any advantage over the competition.
