Song Xiaopu: Practice hard and show your style

"Every time I stand at the end, I take a deep breath and encourage myself in my heart to 'come on and be as strong as a soldier'!" Song Xiaopu, a junior at the Dance Academy of minzu University of China, said this when recalling the winter Olympic etiquette training. As one of the ceremonial volunteers at the Beijing Awards Plaza, Song Xiaopu will show the style of contemporary college students with his beautiful manners at the Winter Olympics.

At the award ceremony at the Winter Olympics, I will work with other ceremonial volunteers to express my best mental state and add color to each highlight moment.

As a etiquette volunteer, every action must be precise and in place, and there is no room for sloppiness. In the exercise, the stride length of the etiquette volunteers needs to be uniformly maintained at 80 steps per minute; the height of the tray should be consistent, each person must hold the rear side of the tray one-third of the position, without too much deviation; the height and hand shape of the guiding gesture are also fixed, accurate to the direction and angle of the finger. "The etiquette service position looks very relaxed, but it is not easy to practice, requiring every action to be meticulous." Song Xiaopu said. You know, the tray used to hold the medals and mascots of the collective project at the award ceremony weighed 25 pounds, and the ceremonial volunteers carried it for half an hour. To be perfect at the Winter Olympic and Paralympic awards ceremonies, volunteers must continue to train day in and day out. She also insisted on arm strength exercises with tray loads to serve well at the Winter Olympics. During the sprint training, Song Xiaopu also set a new goal for himself, that is, to grasp the details and run to the Winter Olympics in a complete state. "I am honored to have the opportunity to participate in the volunteer service of the Winter Olympics, and in the process of training, I have more deeply appreciated the power of the word 'rigorous'. At the award ceremony at the Winter Olympics, I will work with other ceremonial volunteers to express my best mental state and add color to each highlight moment. She said.

Huang Heng: Serve the Winter Olympics with what I have learned

"When I was a schoolboy in 2008, I was impressed by the slogan 'The smile of a volunteer is the best business card in Beijing' at the Beijing Olympics." Today, Huang Heng, a radio and television major from the Communication University of China, will provide media services at Ice Cube as a broadcast service assistant.

As a radio and television major, I will use my expertise and test match experience to serve the broadcast of the event.

After becoming a volunteer, the online training organized by the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the special training carried out by the Communication University of China allowed Huang Heng to learn a lot of knowledge and skills. He said: "There was a teacher who participated in the broadcasting of several Olympic Games, and he taught us the rules of the Olympic Broadcasting in a particularly funny way, and shared a lot of practical experience, which was very helpful to our work. ”

In October 2021, during the "Meet in Beijing" test match held by Ice Cube, Huang Heng was responsible for assisting journalists from all over the world to conduct interviews and reports as a volunteer, and became the only volunteer who could enter the competition venue for photo shooting. After getting up close and personal with the official photographer and learning the Code of Conduct for Photographers in the Curling Arena, he also gained a deeper understanding of its rules and restrictions.

In addition to serving the event, Huang Heng also used his expertise to help produce a short film on the theme of the 100-day countdown to the Winter Olympics, as well as a documentary work on the full field of the "Ice Cube" venue. "From 2008 to 2022, when I became one of the volunteers, I became more aware of the relationship between volunteers and the Olympic Games, which is to ensure the smooth running of the event, make the athletes feel at home, and show them the style of the host." I will strive to be the best business card in Beijing in my post, so that the world can see this simple, safe and wonderful event. ”

Wu Jianze: Make foreign friends feel at home

"During the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympic Winter Games, my volunteer service position was as an assistant to the participating delegations. At the Winter Olympics in the near future, I will be responsible for the escort service of the Ukrainian delegation and will serve as the assistant head of the Ukrainian delegation. "For the upcoming Winter Olympics, Wu Jianze from Beijing Sport University has been quite well prepared.

Working as an assistant to the participating delegations, I have a sense of mission. Be a good preacher of the Chinese story in the new era and make foreign friends feel at home, which is worth the trip.

"The assistant to the participating delegations is a professional volunteer assigned by the Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee to the participating delegations." Wu Jianze introduced, "As a bridge between the participating delegations and the Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee, I will solve problems for the delegations in an appropriate way and help them communicate better with the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee." ”

The assistant to the participating delegation is equivalent to the "personal butler" of the delegation during the Winter Olympic Games. In addition to providing language translation services for the delegation, providing guidance and assistance for the delegation to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies and other related official activities, Wu Jianze and the volunteers in the group should also cooperate with the Winter Olympic Organizing Committee to understand and grasp the whereabouts and status of the athletes, and assist the delegation to do relevant medical services, public health and epidemic prevention.

Participating delegation assistants must not only be fluent in foreign languages, but also have the ability to organize and coordinate delegation activities and solve unexpected problems. To this end, Wu Jianze has successively received general knowledge training for volunteers, professional training for foreign liaison volunteers, and special work training for assistants of participating delegations.

"Working as an assistant to the participating delegations, I have a sense of mission." Wu Jianze said, "I must not only be a good 'personal butler', but also a good preacher of The Chinese story in the new era and a propagandist of the image of young people, so that foreign friends can feel at home and worth the trip." ”

Fang Shuo: Fight for every minute for athletes

"Adapting to training on the pre-race pitch is especially important for athletes. As a venue change volunteer, all I have to do is help athletes earn every minute of time to adapt to the venue. Fang Shuo from Beijing Sport University is not only a volunteer for the field conversion work in the Capital Gymnasium, but also a discus national second-level athlete.

As a venue change volunteer, all I have to do is help athletes earn every minute of time to adapt to the venue.

During the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, the Capital Gymnasium will undertake short track speed skating and figure skating competitions. For the same ice sports, the two events are arranged differently in the placement of protective mats on the field, the position of the referee table and the media camera area. Both competitions alternate several times over the same day. To do this, volunteers need to complete the site conversion in a short period of time.

In the early test match, Fang Shuo and other volunteers were required to complete the conversion of the protective mat and the referee table of the short track speed skating and figure skating within 10 minutes, and once there was a delay, it would affect the work of the follow-up ice volunteers, and then delay the entire event. "Every time the venue changes, we have to push the trolley back and forth between the venue and the outside. To this end, we must act as quickly as possible and shorten the time on the road. The connecting referee tables need to be dismantled and completed in an orderly manner, and in order to save time, the two groups of volunteers will assist each other, one group will dismantle and carry the referee table, and the other group will be responsible for fixing the trolley. Fang Shuo said, "Although the disassembly and assembly exercise of the referee table is important, unexpected situations in the venue may occur at any time, so the volunteers will summarize and communicate and establish a good tacit understanding." ”

Today, Fang Shuo and his partners have entered the closed loop to carry out the preparation of the first sports field and carry out more targeted job training. In the Winter Olympics, the work of the venue conversion volunteers is not conspicuous, but behind this ice and snow feast is also inseparable from their silent efforts.
