5x optical zoom? For the first time, the iPhone 15 features a periscope telephoto lens

As early as a few weeks ago, analyst Jeff Pu said that the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will be equipped with a periscope telephoto lens with 10x optical zoom.

According to the latest news from Jeff Pu, Apple is testing a periscope lens assembly that supports 5x optical zoom instead of 10x optical zoom, and will determine which company will supply it in May this year.

For now, the lens supplier is likely to be Zhejiang Lante Optics, which is expected to provide Apple with more than 100 million pieces of the lens assembly.

In fact, as early as the 2017 Mobile World Congress MWC, OPPO showed for the first time a 5x lossless zoom technology based on a periscope camera structure and dual camera.

Subsequently, Huawei and Samsung also equipped their flagship phones with periscope lenses and can provide 10 to 100 times zoom.
