"Roger's Doubtful Case" Reading Notes

Category: Detective Suspense

About the Author: [Roger's Doubts] is a very famous article by Agatha Christie. I read her work in junior high school, and because I liked it, her name was deeply remembered.

With her unique charm, Agatha Christie has created countless legends in the history of detective literature: her creative career lasted more than fifty years, and she wrote eighty detective novels in her lifetime; she ushered in the most famous "golden age" in the history of detective fiction; her "Roger Doubt", "No One Survived", "Murder on the Orient Express", "Massacre on the Nile" are all classics in the history of detective fiction; she is the queen of detective fiction.

Summary: This book was written in the first person, "'I'' Dr. Shepard is a well-known, kind, and respected person in the local town. With private detective Polocha Roger's suspected case assist, ''I'' actively worked hard to cooperate with Poirot's investigation and pay attention. Concerned about all people and things related to the case. Poirot trusts 'I', not only involves ''I'' in the investigation, but also discusses the things in the case with 'I'' together.

All kinds of descriptions, in my eyes, it is natural to regard "'I'" as a person who is on the side of justice, never doubted ''I'', and the characters that appear in the book are more or less suspected.

In this book, it is particularly important that everything is "'I'" in the narrative, and as a reader, it is natural to stand on the position of ''I'' and even the reader and the narrator have merged into one, as a reader, how can you doubt 'I''?

At the end, everything is completely overturned, and it turns out that the greedy, twisted, and cruel murderer is ''I''. The ending is completely unexpected, a very worthwhile mystery novel, worthy of Agatha Christie's fame.

Finally, I would like to say that I personally experienced the most headache for me when reading foreign novels, and the name is particularly difficult to remember.
