YouTube CEO: NFT functionality will be available for video creators

On January 25, YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki reportedly said today that YouTube is exploring NFT (non-homogeneous token) capabilities for video creators.

Although Wojcicki did not disclose specific plans or an exact timeline, this marks Google's first foray into the cryptocurrency collectibles market.

Previously, several of YouTube's competitors had joined the camp. For example, Twitte has started allowing users to post NFTs as avatars, and Instagram is offering a similar service. It was also reported last week that Facebook's parent company, Meta, was working on plans to allow customers to create and promote NFTs.
