03 The Long Road to Trial After Being Captured

According to Zhang's description, the police learned that the criminal was about 1 meter and seven meters tall, with triangular eyes and small mouth, and one of the most significant features was that this demon loved to laugh very much and always smiled when talking.
Soon, the body of the female taxi driver who had the accident was found, and additional police forces were dispatched to conduct a large-scale investigation of the case.
And Zhao Zhihong, who killed the red eye, did not end it because Zhang escaped, but only a few days later committed two consecutive crimes.
He first mutilated an adult woman, dumped the body on the side of the road, and then killed a 12-year-old girl.
At the time of the incident, the girl was alone at home, but was taken away from her young precious life by Zhao Zhihong, who suddenly committed violence.
In less than two months, four people were killed, and the police set up a special case team and offered a reward of 200,000 yuan to collect case clues.
For a time, this series of rape and murder cases caused great concern among people, especially the citizens of Hu and Uzbekistan.
Fortunately, the simulated portrait of the suspect released by the police was recognized by a village director in the new urban area of Hohhot shortly after.
The village chief reported that the suspect on the wanted warrant was suspected to be an out-of-town resident in his jurisdiction.
According to his identification, this person once lived in the village for a period of time, and everyone called him "Honghong", and not long before the police issued a notice, this "Honghong" moved away.

At this time, Zhao Zhihong had already come to work in a kindergarten in Hohhot, and he did not know that the police were going to come to the door.

04 Fa-rectification
Although Zhao Zhihong's case lasted for many years before the trial finally ended, justice was not absent after all.
Zhao Zhihong was sentenced to death in 2019.
The reason why this vicious "smile demon" was not ended until 14 years later, and the complexity of the case is an important reason.
Another more important reason is the sensational Hugjiletu murder case.
Let's briefly review the case.
On April 9, 1996, a young woman named Yang Huanzhi was killed in a public toilet near a cigarette factory in Hohhot, a case known to the outside world as the "4.9 Public Toilet Female Corpse Case".
Through investigation, the police arrested the then 18-year-old Hugjiltu.
Just two months later, Hugjiltu was executed.
In December 2006, years later, Zhao Zhihong, who was already in prison, suddenly wrote a "death application" in toilet paper, admitting that he had killed a woman in a public toilet (Yang Huanzhi, the victim of the "Hug case"), and thought that the case was really murdered.
The news went away and immediately set off a great storm.
Since then, the police have conducted a rigorous review of the Hugejil pattern, and in 2014, a retrial found that Hugejiletu was wrongly sentenced to death.
Subsequently, the Inner Mongolia High Court acquitted Hugjiletu and paid a sum of state compensation (a total of more than 2 million yuan) to the family, and the relevant personnel who handled the case that year were held accountable.
After Hugjiletu was acquitted, Zhao Zhihong's mother, Liu Ainu, solemnly apologized to Hug's mother by phone.
Hugjiletu's parents finally waited until their beloved son was wronged, how the Ho Naisi people had passed away, and Hu Ge's precious life was irreparable.
Zhao Zhihong's case was reviewed and confirmed by the Supreme Court.
In the 10 years beginning in 1996, Zhao committed a total of 17 crimes in Huhu, Wu and other places, killing 6 people, raping 2 young girls and 10 women, and many robberies and thefts.
In the other four cases involved, the Supreme Court did not confirm that Zhao Zhihong's crimes were true because the relevant evidence was incomplete.
This includes the 4.9 public toilet murder case that he believes he believes, and the controversy about this case has always been controversial on the Internet.
Its biggest point of controversy is: In the end, is Zhao Zhihong doing it?
The main reason why the Supreme Court did not confirm the criminal facts of Zhao Zhihong in these four cases was that there were many inconsistencies between Zhao Zhihong's confession before and after and between other evidence, and there were still inexplicable contradictions between some important circumstances of her confession and other evidence.
For example, there is a big gap between the length of the shoe print extracted on the spot and the length of Zhao Zhihong's foot.
In addition, there are still many details in the case that do not correspond to his confession.
The author believes that although the crime scene was destroyed to varying degrees that year, or some evidence was slightly insufficient due to the backward investigation technology, it cannot deny the facts of Zhao Zhihong's crime.
It is also normal for Zhao Zhihong to confess afterwards that it is difficult to restore all the facts in the process of committing a crime.
After all, it is almost impossible for a criminal to clearly remember every detail in the process of committing a long-term serial crime, so there is often confusion in memory and the confession is untrue.
Fortunately, the verdicts in these 4 cases did not affect the final result, and Zhao Zhihong was executed.
