In this era of masters flying all over the sky, Mr. Liu Yue can be called a real master of art! His title of "master" was not recognized by official institutions, but was appraised by famous calligraphers and practitioners, recognized by the Scholars of Qilu Dadi hong, and unanimously recognized by the broad masses. Before writing the book, he often wrote the word "Qi Ren", which was in harmony with "Strange Man", although it was a coincidence, it seemed to be Providence.
"A soldier in Qilu, a strange person throughout the ages". This is not a false reputation also. Throughout Mr. Liu Yue's life, a "strange" word has become the most vivid interpretation of his life. Strange, otherworldly, extraordinary also. In my opinion, Liu Lao has "three oddities".
In the Yimeng Mountains, Mr. Liu Yue is a legendary figure. He has been teaching in Pingyi County for a long time until his retirement, which can be described as "peach and plum all over the world", and in his spare time, he cultivates the fields and swims in the ink sea. His lifelong personality Gengsuke, indifferent to fame and fortune, intoxicated with calligraphy and painting, refused to enter the "Celebrity Dictionary", had no intention of joining any association, never accepted media interviews, calligraphy fell often as "cloth clothes" and "common people" to call themselves; although there is no shining title, and live in a corner, but he is "famous and famous", the name of the book is far and wide, the reputation is rising, his calligraphy and painting art is well-known at home and abroad, in addition to the collection of lovers from all over the country, there are as far as Japan, South Korea, the United States, Singapore, Australia and other international friends, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan painting and calligraphy enthusiasts collection, Popular with collectors.
In the county seat of Pingyi, where he works and lives, people regard him as a "strange man", "perfect man", "god man", and "a generation of masters" of calligraphy art... Ordinary people rush to collect his words, proud to have his calligraphy works hanging in their homes, there are people who pick up lanterns at night, there are people who gather at banquets, and there are people who frame and give gifts; when it comes to the charm of his "Liu Body" calligraphy art, he has the influence of the "Kaizong Founding School", for decades, there are many calligraphy enthusiasts who study and imitate his unique "Liu's font", and the calligraphy of some local calligraphy masters still contains the essence of "Liu's calligraphy". In recent years, although most people engaged in art understand Qi Baishi's art motto of "those who learn from me are born, like those who are like me die", and Mr. Liu Lao does not encourage students to directly learn his characters, this cannot curb people's love for Liu Yue's calligraphy art, and a large number of books copied from his various fonts are tireless. Some young people specialize in writing the character "Liu Ti" and open a calligraphy and painting shop in Linyi City, the "hometown of Shusheng", and the works are quite favored by customers and have considerable operating benefits. Since ancient times, xiongcai has suffered many hardships, and it is difficult to forge ahead. Mr. Liu Yue, whose ancestral home is Changyi, Weifang City, Shandong Province, has loved calligraphy and painting since childhood, and is talented and intelligent, and is deeply loved by Mr. Li Shuhua, the old man of Yushu, the enlightenment teacher. When he was a teenager, Mr. Li not only taught him calligraphy and painting, but also taught him ancient poetry, bronze and jade appreciation. In middle school, he studied calligraphy and painting with the famous calligrapher and painter Mr. Shi Yaonan, and studied seal carving, landscape and flowers and birds with Mr. Chen Shourong. He was admitted to Shandong Art College with excellent results after graduating from middle school, but due to complex social relations, he was not admitted, and then went to Linyi Normal School for further study, where he received special attention from Mr. Wang Xiaogu, a famous calligraphy and painting artist, and conducted systematic study in landscapes, flowers and birds, calligraphy, seal carving, history of calligraphy and painting, theory of calligraphy and painting, and literature and history. In the "ten years of catastrophe" in which the demons are upside down, the social status of teachers is very low, known as "child king" and "stinky old nine". At that time, the Yimeng Mountains were economically poor, and the family population was large, and hunger was a common thing. The people of the countryside once said that "third-level workers, second-level workers, are not as good as a member of the society with a green onion"! At that time, Mr. Liu's wife had no job, his daughter and son were still young, he was carrying a "counter-revolutionary" black cauldron, wearing a "rightist" top hat, in a dangerous situation, often criticized, in addition to his own meager monthly salary, there was no other source of income, family difficulties can be imagined. However, even though he was in difficulty and his life was difficult, he did not forget his artistic hobbies, remembered the teachings of his mentor, and often quietly practiced writing in the dead of night, and used this to pass the difficult and lonely years. Because he was good at calligraphy, he "made meritorious deeds", and was often arranged by the school to write quotations of great people and write the overwhelming "big character newspaper", which became the errand he was most willing to do. After the end of the Cultural Revolution, the organization took off his "rightist" hat for him, bathed in the spring breeze of reform and opening up, and he also ushered in the spring of calligraphy art. Since then, people have gradually realized his unique calligraphy art style and value, his works present a vibrant, majestic, imposing artistic characteristics, in the county and the city of various calligraphy exhibitions, his dragon-like Liu body calligraphy is breathtaking, the aura is very large, the works are often hung in a prominent position, deeply respected and praised by the leaders of the calligraphy industry, experts and the masses. Erudite and determined, old and strong, in Pingyi Tongshi No. 3 Middle School, facing the brilliant morning light and draped in the afterglow of the sunset, teachers and students often see Mr. Liu dipping in water and practicing words on the simple table tennis table, which has also become a unique scene of the school.
The dragon is still raining at dusk, and the old trees are more flowery in spring. With the spread of his exquisite calligraphy, Mr. Liu became more and more famous and became a well-known "celebrity" in yimeng area. Eight years ago, the author personally saw that in the "Zhenqing Gallery" diagonally opposite the former residence of Wang Xizhi in Linyi City, the hometown of Shusheng, a four-foot list book "Shou" written by Mr. Liu Yue sold for 20,000 or 30,000 yuan. The owner is a lady, she said, this is Mr. Liu's fine calligraphy, and she is reluctant to sell it.
"Strange stubbornness" and "boldness", "simplicity" and "remoteness" are not only the characteristics of Liu Lao's calligraphy art, but also the characteristics of his handling of people. Over the years, he has always adhered to the "ice clean jade purity", indifferent to fame and fortune of the literati ethics, adhere to the love of calligraphy and painting antiques but not stained with copper odor code of conduct. From his youth to the later years of his bookish life, he has always adhered to the life creed of "art for the people, selfless dedication", and has never taken a penny when writing for people. "Do not succumb to power, do not be moved by interests, and do not be confused by material desires." Love the truth, do not lower your ambition, do not insult yourself", this is the motto written by Mr. Liu Yue for himself. From party and government leaders and commanders of troops to ordinary people and traders and coachmen, he treated everyone equally, tried his best to meet the requirements, and generously gave words. Writing and painting, each stroke embodies the lifelong efforts and wisdom of the calligrapher and painter, the work is the result of the hard work of the artist, it is reasonable to say that the calligrapher and painter charge a certain amount of polishing fees to the seekers, of course; moreover, the literati have collected the pen fee since ancient times, and in today's economically developed society, it is beyond reproach. However, Mr. Liu has always wanted nothing, is open-minded, and writes for people without collecting money. It is said that a businessman in the south for a long time to admire Liu Lao's calligraphy, after being introduced to Liu Lao's home to ask for words, said that he wanted to give a considerable amount of polishing fees, Liu Lao declined, wrote him a number of works, the businessman really did not want to go, heard that Liu Lao loved to drink, and even pulled a cart of good wine to send, becoming a beautiful conversation in the streets and alleys. Mr. Xu Xiu, a famous calligrapher in Pingyi, once said: "Teacher Liu has written countless works for people for free over the years, and they cannot be calculated, if he collects money, large villas and cars will already exist." However, the old man did not seek fame and fortune and never accepted money! ”
Mr. Liu has been performing for free for many years, regardless of remuneration, is it that his family is particularly well-off, has a special background, and has too much money to spend? Non also! He is an ordinary retired teacher, his children are also "office workers" who support their families by salary, grandchildren go to school, children buy buildings, and wait for money everywhere. However, Mr. Liu never broke the rules, did not open the golden mouth, and never asked for money or goods when writing!
Whenever the calligraphy and painting industry organizes public welfare activities, Mr. Liu always actively participates in it and is known for his "ability". Every time the county federation of literary and literary organizations organized calligraphy to go to the countryside, he was always the first to pick up the pen and say "work", a writing is most of the day, and the last to put down the pen is still him! Every time the PEN club is active, he has the most people around him, he is never sloppy, always takes it seriously, and the works he is not satisfied with will never be spread to the society.
However, who could have imagined that such an old man who had devoted himself selflessly and promoted his art throughout his life would actually suffer from tumors for a long time, and the two tumors on his body had been accompanying his artistic career for twenty years, but Elder Liu turned a blind eye to it and lived in harmony with him. Mr. Liu Yue is not only an artistic celebrity, but also a real strong and wise man, a "cancer star" with super perseverance. He also suffers from a variety of chronic diseases of old age, relying on various drugs, but also relying on strong perseverance to fight with the disease silently for a long time, sometimes forcing the pain of illness, he also has to socialize with various calligraphy requests, and try to meet the wishes of many book seekers. He repeatedly expressed to the outside world that he would seal his pen permanently, but he reluctantly reneged on his promise again and again. Looking at the long list of words, facing the pair of pious and eager eyes, he often had to study ink until the night was quiet, until he couldn't really hold the pen!

The calligraphy that best expresses the characteristics of Liu Lao's calligraphy and the most able to show his feelings is cursive writing, which is also his favorite font for writing. Mr. Liu's cursive writing started from the two kings; he made painstaking imitations of Song Su, Huang, Mi, Qing Wangduo, etc., and at the same time absorbed the nutrition of the calligraphy art of Lin Sanzhi, Wang Yuchang, and Wu Zhongqi, which can be described as a combination of hundreds of families and prepared into one; his xingcao is elegant and ancient, Shangfa Shangyi, and his shape is peculiar and vivid, showing profound comprehensive cultivation and skills. In the early days, the cursive writing pen was mostly centered, so that the turn was more with the wrist elbow, the pen was full of ink, the pen was turned on all sides, the thousand millimeters were together, the lines were curved and strong, the force could carry the top, the knot was peculiar, the pitch was colorful, the ingenuity was clumsy, the writing was written, the chapter was wonderful, and sometimes it was a bit of a painting in a wild and uninhibited state, like a volcanic eruption, if the rivers were rushing. The late cursive writing is old and mellow, dignified and elegant, and rhymes with high antiquity. The knot is more and more wonderful, it seems to have the natural interest of the ghostly craftsmanship, the thick lines are like ancient pine branches, the thin ones are like dragon claw root carvings, the strange posture is full of life, such as the dragon Xiangyun, the charm is super easy, the words are overflowing with a peaceful and comfortable joy, showing a kind of peaceful and prosperous elegance, the peaceful wind, has entered the realm!

In short, Teacher Liu's cursive writing in his later years is more dignified and old, not seeing the state of madness, simple and rich in shape, elegant and ancient, and often surprisingly creative. Mr. Liu Yue often said: Calligraphy should not only show the unique beauty of line art, but also spread "truth, goodness and beauty" with calligraphy art, and infect and educate the world with calligraphy connotations. In his later years, he often wrote classic sentences of Chinese sages such as "Tianxingjian, a gentleman with self-improvement", "See the sages and think together", "Humble self-pastoral", "Humble gentleman", etc., in order to spur and warn future generations. In his twilight years, Mr. Li dragged his sick body and wrote Zengzi's famous "Filial Piety Classic" with tenacious perseverance, using 20 four-foot bucket squares in large letters, and his book was peaceful, calm and majestic, with far-reaching artistic charm. This brush painting condenses the essence of his exquisite calligraphy, and contains his ardent expectations for future generations. In the early summer of 2020, in the "Filial Piety Shuihun" May Day Calligraphy Masters Group Exhibition planned by Shuihu Pastoral, a tourist resort in Yimeng Pingyi, Mr. Liu Yue, who was 88 years old at the time, was grandly exhibited with his masterpiece "Filial Piety Classic" calligraphy works, and the crowd of viewers surged and flowed endlessly, which aroused people's praise and received good cultural effects and social effects.

However, he is not a fairy who does not eat fireworks in the world, usually, he is a cute old man in the family of ordinary people. Students, colleagues, friends and family who are familiar with him know that in addition to his rigorous teaching and teaching, he is actually an amiable elder. In life, he is thick and cute, like an old naughty boy, never lose his virginity, joke a little good, he will also hit the table to call, happy will jump up. At this time, in people's hearts, he is a charming "immortal male god"! Mr. Li is a man of temperament, and like the ancient and modern literati inkers, he also likes to drink. According to the disciples, one year, he and his teachers and friends gathered to drink bitterly, indulged in ink during the banquet, leaving behind a "drunken book and ink treasure", and finally he was drunk, immersed in the poetry of the wine immortal Li Bai, bathed in the moonlight like water, and on the winding country road, he was carried home by friends and students in turn. Anecdotes about him have been circulated in eight townships.
For the art of bold, but not arrogant; sincere, humble and low-key. Liu Lao is usually very modest, never demeaning other people's calligraphy, and rarely discusses the trivialities of others, he once said: Scholars should have no distractions, widely collected, even if others write a "point" better than me, I must also learn from others. For decades, he has been unraveling the scrolls, refining the writings, combining creation and creation, and becoming more and more refined. He often said that I did not dare to stop, and my brain was in vain. Every day, he insisted on reading newspapers, reading news, reading ancient poems, appreciating antique porcelain, and raising flowers and grass, and his spiritual life was very rich, and he was charging almost every day. This is also the reason why his calligraphy art is older and more beautiful, old and more refined. People were deeply touched by his spirit of old, studious, and lifelong self-cultivation. "Tianxingjian, a gentleman who strives for self-improvement; The terrain is kun, and the gentleman carries things with thick virtue", Liu Lao often wrote this famous quote of the "I Ching" for others, which is also a vivid portrayal of his own lifelong struggle and courage to climb the peak of art.
"Spring silkworm to the end of the dead silk, wax torch into gray tears began to dry." Over the years, Mr. Liu has written countless poems, songs, famous sentences and aphorisms for people free of charge, praising the times, praising rivers and mountains, and serving the society; especially in the past twenty years, he has splashed ink and written a large number of plaques, links, and inscriptions, which are well received by all walks of life. At the same time, he spared no effort to teach and promote young calligraphy enthusiasts, teach calligraphy art, and teach people tirelessly, which can be described as peach and plum garden, disciples Yingmen. Under the education and influence of the older generation of artists represented by him, in the past ten years, Pingyi County has produced more than ten members of the Chinese Book Association, twenty or thirty members of the Provincial Book Association, and formed a huge group of calligraphy enthusiasts. All this, Mr. Liu Yue and other artists of the older generation are indispensable.
Liu often said: "Art is given by the people, and it must be returned to the people without reservation." "Its supremacy of respecting the people, entertaining the people, and serving the people has made countless people feel awe-inspired." Today, such a dear and respectable old man, a calligraphy master with both virtue and art, and an artist who pursues "art to serve the people" are forever away from us, how can we not be nostalgic, how can we not sigh three times!
