Liu Zhirong

Liu Zhirong, (1952.11.9-2008.5.15.), a native of Rong County, Guangxi, a famous Hong Kong film and television actor and one of the representatives of Li's TV heyday, is known as the "treasure of the town" of Hong Kong ATV.

The son of veteran film and television star and Cantonese opera star Liu Kexuan, and the uncle of ATV artist Yang Ling. Liu Zhirongzi inherited his father's business and joined Leigh's Television (the predecessor of Asia Television) in the 1970s. In 1986, he married Liang Shuzhuang, an artist on the same stage, and was called a "model couple" by insiders, and had a son, Liu Jianle.

Liu Zhirong has been engaged in acting work for more than 20 years, and has starred in dozens of TV series, such as "Grace of the Earth" (as Yang Jiujin), "Chameleon" (as He Sheng), "Six Disasters of Floating Life" (as Zhao Zhenpeng), "Bloody Taiping Mountain" (as Zhou Arui), etc., which are popular among the population. Liu Zhirong's versatile image in the drama has been widely talked about by audiences in Hong Kong, China and overseas. The ATV drama "Huo Dongge" (playing Chen Gongzhe) that participated in the film was broadcast in the mainland and received good response. He has won the Golden Globe Award for Hong Kong's top ten TV stars five times and is a representative of Leigh's TV heyday. In addition to performing dramas, tv stations that produce large-scale programs are mostly hosted by Liu Zhirong. Since 1985, when Asia Television won the four-year hosting of the Miss Asia Pacific International pageant, Liu Zhirong has served as the emcee of the conference for four consecutive terms. Other programs hosted by Liu Zhirong, whether they are entertainment, variety shows (such as "Opening The Stage" and "History Is Crazy"), or current affairs and information (such as "1.1 Billion People"), are highly appreciated. Liu Zhirong is eloquent and is known as the "gold medal emcee", so many chambers of commerce feast, and even the government's return commemorative party, will invite him to host.

Because Liu Zhirong has performed well in acting and hosting, even if the station has changed its equity many times from Li's years to Asia Television, Liu Zhirong has been equally valued in each era, laying the foundation for its status as the "treasure of the town station". Because of his gentle words and deeds, proper handling, warm and friendly treatment of others, and his great style, his peers gave him the nickname "Liu Weng". Liu Zhirong has also appeared on stage in other places, which is very popular in Star, Horse, Thailand and other places, and in 1988, he was awarded the Royal Medal of Honor by the Princess of Thailand, in addition, he also produced, supervised and participated in a number of films.

After Wu Zheng and Yang Lan and his wife joined ATV with a Chinese mainland capital consortium, Liu Zhirong began to fade out of the television circle and turn to political development. In the late 1990s, he was elected as a Member of Parliament for the Jotun District of Hong Kong. During this period, he also participated in a number of ATV dramas, such as "Jingwumen", "Relatives and Relatives", "Sleeping with Wolves", etc., of which Cai Liujin of "Jingwumen" was the most popular among mainland audiences. In 2000, he left ATV after filming "TV Storm" and has not participated in dramas since then.
