Behind the village of Pengya Village, a livable farm with Lingnan folk characteristics stands quietly in a corner. Skirting around a pond with waterwheels, occasionally white water birds flying, a small courtyard with pavilion cornices appeared in front of me. Walking in from a neat and flat cement road, inside is the "livable" of Hanagi Sensen. The cement road is lined with various bonsai such as Luo Han Pine, Chrysanthemum, and Bougainvillea, which makes people feel happy before they enter the door.
"The livable farm covers an area of about 3 acres, and construction began in 2012, and it has been almost ten years now, and in the past ten years, it has been continuously renovated and constructed." Chen Wukan, the son of Chen Shinian, the owner of the livable farm, introduced that at that time, this was a slope land, and his father Chen Shinian loved gardening, and after buying this land, he began to build a garden. At that time, there was no commercial use, but simply to build a pleasant place for family and relatives and friends.
Chen Wukan, a "post-80s" who studied mechanical manufacturing in college, has always loved folk traditional arts since he was a child, and loves calligraphy, painting and music. As the secretary general of the Kanglezhuang Villagers' Council of Pengya Village, he actively participated in the construction and governance of the rural construction and transformation of Pengyao Village, leading the painting and carving of murals and cornice patterns of the ancient opera stage of Kanglezhuang, restoring the Zhonggong wall paintings of Kanglezhuang, and engraving inscriptions for the couplet plaques of some alleys. With the experience of rural transformation, Chen Wukan also has his own unique views on the design of livable gardens.
The overall concept of the livable farm garden was led by Chen Shinian, who was actively involved in the design. The design principle is to adapt to local conditions and retain the strong cultural characteristics of Yulin residential buildings. In order to make the layout of the whole garden more alive and beautiful, it also integrates the elements of the small bridge of Jiangnan Garden.
On the plaque at the gate of the livable farm, there are two big characters written with silver hook and iron painting "livable", which is written by Chen Wukan. Entering from the main gate, the park is paved with gravel, and on the right side are palm trees, yellow flower bluebell trees, flame trees and other tall trees, under which the old stone mills have been transformed into stone tables and chairs for tourists to rest. The grass on the left is lush, and the large bougainvillea branches are soft and swaying in the wind, which are rare green calyxes and white calyxes. Under the stone designed in the shape of Taihu Lake, in a fish pond with living water, red and white koi carp swim around lively.
Walking across a red brick arch bridge, it is a classical pavilion. The water under the arch bridge is babbling, and from time to time, fish come out of the water to spit bubbles and play. The gazebo extends outwards and a winding corridor leads deep into the garden. The corridor is decorated with rustic wooden balustrades, and fine grass mats hang down from the corridor to block out the fierce sunlight.
"Standing on the corridor, you can enjoy the beautiful lotus pond view and idyllic scenery. Because livable farms are surrounded by large areas of crops and are abundant in bait such as fish and insects, a large number of wild migratory birds fly to feed every year. ”
The reporter saw that there were several birds of different colors strolling leisurely in the lotus pond and rice field, pecking from time to time, making people feel the beauty of harmonious coexistence between man and nature. Chen Wukan introduced that this is an egret and some storks that cannot be named.
"The garden blooms all year round. In addition to the common flowers and trees, Gesang flowers have been planted in the garden this year, and there are also rare golden flower teas in the garden. At the same time, in order to highlight the characteristics of agricultural taste, many melons and fruits such as loofah, beans and passion fruit were also planted. However, in order to retain the cultural characteristics of the garden, we have not considered adding too many amusement projects at present, mainly based on the leisure experience of tourists. ”
