On October 23, the farewell ceremony of the first case of body donation in Yintai District was held in Sanlidong Fangcao Community, attended by Hou Xiaozhou, full-time vice president of the Tongchuan Red Cross Society, Song Feiyu, director of the Red Cross Eye Bank of Shaanxi Province, Xu Zili, director of the Office of Body Donation of the Medical Department of Xi'an Jiaotong University, all the staff of the District Red Cross Society, the families of volunteers, relatives and friends.
The body donation volunteer has been in major hospitals for a long time, bravely fighting against the disease for more than a decade, and was killed by the disease at the age of 16 on October 23, 2021 due to ineffective treatment. Before his death, the teenager made the decision to voluntarily donate his body and cornea, and received the understanding and support of his family. The staff of the Red Cross Society of Yintai District took the initiative to register their willingness to donate Chinese bodies and organs for them.
On the afternoon of the 23rd, the volunteers' families took the initiative to contact the Red Cross Society of Yintai District, and under the efforts of the Shaanxi Red Cross Body Donation Center, the Shaanxi Red Cross Eye Bank, the Tongchuan Red Cross Society, etc., through the witness of the two Red Cross donation coordinators, in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations of the state, the volunteers' remains were donated to the Medical Department of Xi'an Fourth Military Medical University for medical teaching and scientific research. This is the first case of a body donor in Yintai District and the first case of a minor body donor in Tongchuan City.
