IT House Jan. 25 News, according to Corning official news, Corning Corporation today announced the launch of a new glass model to promote the development of augmented and mixed reality (AR/MR) diffractive optical waveguide products for wearable devices.

2.0 High Refractive Index Glass is the latest addition to Corning's AR/MR portfolio, which also includes 1.8 and 1.9 High Refractive Index Glass products.

According to the authorities, Corning Advanced Optics' new 2.0 high refractive index glass will bring wider field of view (FOV) and better optical clarity to AR/MR wearables, as well as excellent blue light transmittance. Compared to glass products with a lower refractive index, the 2.0 high refractive index glass wafer helps customers manufacture products with a wider field of view with fewer glass lenses, enabling lighter, more stylish, and more economical headset designs.

Corning 2.0 high refractive index glass wafers are available in diameters of 150 mm, 200 mm, and 300 mm, and in a variety of thicknesses to excel in geometric tolerances.

Corning will hold the SPIE AR | Jan. 24-28 in San Francisco, USA VR | The new 2.0 high refractive index glass product was exhibited at the MR event and at the SPIE Western Optoelectronics Show.
