The reporter learned from the Civil Aviation Administration of China that a few days ago, the Civil Aviation Administration officially issued the country's first regional logistics UAV trial operation approval letter and business license, and SF's large-scale UAV company Fengniao Technology became the first enterprise in the country that can carry out commercial trial operation of tonnage-level large-scale industry-loaded and long-haul regional logistics UAV in specific scenarios.
It is understood that the Civil Aviation Administration of China proposed in the "Regulations for the Trial Operation of Specific Types of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (Provisional)" issued in February 2019 that the specific operation risk assessment (SORA) method should be used to formulate the approval requirements for trial operation, and to point out the development direction for the trial operation of unmanned aerial vehicles and provide an effective specific implementation path.
After the implementation of the regional logistics scenario verification operation practice based on the SORA method, Feng bird Technology submitted an application for the trial operation of the regional logistics UAV in September 2020, and the Civil Aviation Administration immediately carried out the initial review, document review, on-site subject verification and other aspects of the review, and completed the final review in December 2021.
Through this evaluation method, the commercial trial operation of regional logistics drones was approved, and Feng bird technology was the first case in the world. Its trial operation will also accumulate flight data and operational experience for the construction of relevant standards and regulations for mainland UAVs, and export to the international export of China's civil aviation UAV operation model demonstration.
SF Group said that after the trial operation approval letter and business license were issued, Feng bird Technology will take the lead in carrying out regional logistics and transportation services in Yulin and other places in northwest China, helping to build a three-stage air transport network of "large manned aircraft + large regional UAV + terminal delivery drone", and will expand the scope of trial operation in a timely manner under the supervision and guidance of the Civil Aviation Administration in the future, and connect the network step by step.
