An unforgettable song "Xinjiang Is Good"

In the exhibition hall of the Shihezi Corps Military Reclamation Museum, a photocopy of the "New Hunan News" from more than 70 years ago silently tells the story of the years that can be sung and wept.

In order to enable the vast number of officers and men to take root in the frontier, Wang Zhen wrote to the central authorities to organize and mobilize a large number of women to xinjiang to participate in the construction of the frontier. In 1949, more than 1,000 young female students from Shaanxi and Gansu were recruited; in 1951, more than 1,200 unmarried female medical personnel from Shandong were recruited from the East China Field Army Hospital; from 1950 to 1952, 8,000 young female soldiers were recruited from Hunan.

"Eight thousand Xiang women descend the Heavenly Mountain", which sounds like a romantic sentence, hides behind the choices of tens of thousands of young people and persistently adheres.

An unforgettable song "Xinjiang Is Good"

Tao Simeng, the first singer of the popular song "Xinjiang Good", is also a member of the "Eight Thousand Xiang Girls". At that time, female soldiers who went west to Xinjiang first took a train to Xi'an, and then took a car into Xinjiang. When you stop at Jiuquan to rest, it is the Mid-Autumn Festival. The recruitment group organizes a party of newly recruited female soldiers. Tao Si, who is only 17 years old, dreams and generously sings the minor tunes of his hometown.

This appearance determined Tao Simeng's later life, because of a good voice, she was assigned to the Xinjiang Military Region Cultural and Labor Corps. As soon as she arrived in Xinjiang, Tao Simeng joined the torrent of the large-scale production movement, and she and her comrades in arms in the cultural and labor troupe, under the leadership of Commander Wang Zhen, built a peace canal and built the Red Yanchi Reservoir.

From winter to spring, in 1951, Tao Simeng followed the Cultural and Labor Corps of the Xinjiang Military Region to Yili to carry out rent reduction and anti-hegemony work, and threw himself into the land reform and socialist transformation movement.

In the vigorous land reform movement, Tao Simeng and his comrades-in-arms went to the village and entered the households, exposed and criticized the landlord Bayi, told the blood and tears of deep hatred, and distributed land and agricultural tools. In the living room of Maismubayi's family, the famous composer Liu Chi and Ma Hanbing, director of the Propaganda Department of the Political Department of the Xinjiang Military Region, jointly created the "Chorus of Frontier Soldiers".

The mighty and heroic march into Xinjiang, the heroism of turning swords into ploughs, and the magnificent picture of the red flag rolling over the snowy plateau are all transformed into notes jumping on Liu Chi's fingertips. The third song in the chorus is the classic song "Xinjiang Good" that has been sung for 70 years. Liu Chi personally selected Tao Simeng to lead the song "Xinjiang Good".

This song "Xinjiang Is Good", Tao Simeng old man sang for 70 years, from "Xiang Meizi" to the old age. Listening to this beautiful melody, generations of young people rushed to Xinjiang, rushed to the place where the motherland is most needed, in the front line of tun reclamation, in factories, in hospitals, in schools, in every post built in Xinjiang, they exerted their youth and achieved "our beautiful countryside, our lovely hometown".
