In the first quarter, Hart and Jones scored on layups, and Bitage threw and scored. Varan scored on a layup, Graham hit a three-pointer, Temple scored on a layup and the Pelicans went on a 7-0 run. Clegg hit a mid-range shot, Hart hit a layup and Craig hit a three-pointer. Varan scored four straight points and Duarte hit a three-pointer. Le Vere and Holliday hit consecutive hits and Hayes received a dunk. Duarte scored on a layup, Jackson took a dunk in the air and the Pacers responded with a wave of 8-0.
