Cairo, 24 Jan (People's Daily Online) -- On the evening of 24 January local time, on the occasion of the 10-day countdown to the opening of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Cairo Tower, a landmark building in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, staged a light show, and the words "Beijing Winter Olympics," "Beijing 2022," "See you in Beijing in 10 days" and the emblem of the Beijing Winter Olympics were projected on the tower in Chinese, English, and Arabic. Sharif said it was a great honor to be invited to attend the launching ceremony of today's light show. Sharif said that he led the Egyptian delegation to the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, China and the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and felt the vastness and strength of China. Sharif believes that the current sino-Egyptian cooperation in various fields such as sports is at the best level in history, the Egyptian people and all walks of life firmly support China's hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics, and believe that China will be able to dedicate a high-level Winter Olympic Event to the world with its experience in successfully hosting the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
