Bucks coach Budenholzer gave a media interview today after training, in which he talked about Matthews' injury.
Boden said Matthews did not attend training today due to a left knee contusion and that he will be absent from Thursday's game against the Cavaliers.
Matthews was hit by Mitchell in a defensive turn in the third quarter of the 23rd game against the Kings, after which he tried to adjust, but still limped and continued to participate in the team's offense. The Bucks chose to continue the game and did not deliberately foul the game to stop or call a timeout. Budenholzer didn't call a timeout until the last 30 seconds of the third quarter to replace Matthews, who limped for a full 1 minute and 20 seconds on the field. After that, Matthews never returned to the field.
