experience

(Soviet) Ger Drobitz

Kuzevagin, a gold miner, smashed furniture in his office and crawled toward the fireplace with some money in his hands.

"Stop!" The director shouted, "That's too bad. ”

The actor Semenov sat down on the bench and bowed his head in shame.

The director sat down beside him, put his arm around his shoulder and said:

"Semyonov, my dear, what happened to you today?"

"I didn't have that experience, Grigory. This has never happened in my life. And no experience is not good. ”

"What does this have to do with the experience? You don't even figure out the basic tasks. You've been destroying furniture for so long, as if this is the main scene, but the main scene should be burning money. Throw the banknote into the fire in disgust, my dear, throw it in disgust!"

"Disgustedly..."

"Yes, Semenov, then let's do it all over again." You, the gold miner Kuzewakin, suddenly realize that the money is not coming right, and in order to wash away the sins, you throw them into the fire... It's dirty money!"

"It's dirty money," Said Semyonov listlessly agreed, "but please understand me, I have never had so much money." Just now you said that I was very energetic about destroying furniture. This is because I have experience. My wife has been complaining for years that our furniture is too worn and too embarrassed to invite someone to be a guest. I've fallen on furniture twice at home... Just like that, lift the chair and throw it against the wall. Yet with so much money on hand... I've never had this experience. ”

"Never had that much money before..." the director mused. That's great! Then experience it now! Listen to me: the money is real, it's yours, it's your reward for participating in the filming of this film. ”

"It's an advance for me..."

"Nope. Even if the film is finished, you have been paid. The standard of remuneration is unimaginably high. Look, what a thick stack of banknotes! Oh, you just look at it and think: Why give so much money? The script was clumsy, the director was talentless, and I didn't act well. The more you think about it, the more shameful you feel and condemned by your conscience. So you develop a sense of disgust with the money, don't even want to touch it, and finally throw it into the fire in disgust. Doesn't that have a basis for thinking?"

"It seems that there is..."

"Fold the furniture!" The director ordered, "Put the little box of money back in place!" Plugging in the power to the fireplace... Turn on the lights... Power on!"

...... Kuzewakin threw the small box to the ground, picked up the bill and crawled toward the fireplace, his eyes fixed on the money in his hand.

"Good looking..." the director whispered, "just look at it, very good..."

Kuzevagin folded the banknotes in half into neat stacks. He took it into his arms and then put his hands tightly on his chest.

"Stop!" The director yelled, "What's wrong with you?! Where are you putting your money?!"

Semyonov sat down on the bench, and Grigory sat down beside him in frustration.

"I don't know who we fainted." Grigory put a pill to prevent myocardial infarction in his mouth and said in a hoarse voice, "Semyonov, tell me what kind of thought is dominating you?"

"Grigori," said Semyonov happily, "I imagined myself suddenly getting so much money... So I calculated that with this money, I could not only pay off my debts, buy furniture, but also buy a leather coat for my wife - this is something I have promised for several years, buy a tape recorder for my son, and at the end of the day, I can go to get together with friends... So I thought: even if the script is clumsy, even if the director is not talented, even if I don't act well, I am ashamed of the audience... But to throw this money into the fire, this will not be possible in any way!"
