Located in the core area of The New Town in western Jinan, the Shandong Provincial Capital Grand Theater was inaugurated on October 9, 2013, and is one of the national and international grand theaters operated and managed by China International Culture Group Corporation, and is also the main venue and opening ceremony venue of the 10th China Arts Festival in Shandong Province in 2013.
With a construction area of 85,000 square meters, the Grand Theatre is the largest, most functional, highest-grade and world-class cultural performance venue in Jinan and even Shandong Province. After its completion, it not only becomes a new cultural landmark in Jinan, enhancing the cultural taste of the entire city, but also laying a solid hardware foundation for the upgrading and improvement of the public cultural service system in Shandong Province, and driving the formation of the regional development model of The Western Cultural Center, the Central Economic Center and the Eastern High-tech Center in Jinan.
The Grand Theatre was designed by Mr. Paul Andrew, a famous French designer who has designed famous buildings such as Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in China, with the design concept of "Dai Qinghai Blue". "Dai Qing" takes the poetic meaning of "How Dai Zongfu, Qilu Qingwei" in Du Fu's "Wangyue", which contains the excellent qualities of the Qilu people's unremitting self-improvement, virtue, diligence and wisdom; "Sea Blue" symbolizes the beautiful geographical environment of Shandong surrounded by mountains and rivers and surrounded by the sea on three sides, and conveys the rich cultural atmosphere and profound cultural heritage of the hometown of Confucius and Meng. The theater is a three-hemispherical building, like three springs, beautiful and elegant, highlighting the concept of spring water agility, showing the characteristics of "Spring City".
The Provincial Capital Grand Theater takes "inheriting the cultural roots and building a Qilu cultural highland" as its service tenet, leading the new fashion of culture and art in qilu land. From east to west, the theater has 1677 opera halls, 476 performance halls and 1496 concert halls, supporting the construction of rehearsal halls and other auxiliary function rooms. The surrounding central square, two-storey underground garage and municipal supporting facilities project strive to let the audience enjoy the art under the shade of green trees and the babbling water. After the completion of the Provincial Capital Grand Theater, the three regional models of Jinan Western Cultural Center, Central Economic Center and Eastern High-tech Center have been formed, which have become the landmark cultural facilities of Shandong Province and the Western Cultural New City of Jinan City, reflecting the rapidly rising pursuit of the spiritual and cultural field, and it is also a major shift in the consumption mode of the shandong people with rich life.
