The Mirror takes stock of possible transfers in the Premier League this month: Isaac moves to the Gunners, Ali goes to Paris

The Mirror has taken stock of six possible transfers in the Premier League in January, including potential deals such as Isaac's move to Arsenal, Wijnaldum's move to Newcastle, and Ali's move to Paris.

Isaac – transfer from Real Sociedad to Arsenal

Whether or not a new contract is struck with the current No. 9 starter Lacazette, it's no secret that Arsenal need a striker. The Gunners' top scorer of the season is Smith Ronaldo, a midfielder who has been scoring almost a month since his last goal, while strikers Lacazette, Nketiah and Aubameyang have scored just seven goals in the league.

With the chase for Vlahovic looking more and more likely to end up fruitless, they deserve to invest in other players that could help them get into the Champions League. Isaac, a proven scorer, continues to impress at Real Sociedad, and Arsenal can buy Isaac the same way they paid a severance payment to take Thomas away in 2020.

Wijnaldum – Moved from Paris to Newcastle

Former Liverpool midfielder Wijnaldum went through a difficult period after moving to Paris in the summer, failing to secure a regular starting spot in Paris. The Dutchman is reportedly unhappy in the French capital, with reports of factional struggles in the dressing room, prompting him to make it possible to return to the Premier League.

Arsenal are one of the teams linked, but returning to former owners Newcastle could be a better option. Wijnaldum was the season's top scorer during his only season with the Magpies, and his return to Liverpool after the team's relegation in 2016 could be an important sign of Newcastle's ambitions.

Ali – moved from Tottenham to Paris

If Paris Saint-Germain wanted to make a difference, a different reunion could happen. During Pochettino's time at Tottenham, Alli played the best football of his career and the Argentine could help him rediscover himself. The England international, who was excluded from the squad in Tottenham's loss to Chelsea, doesn't appear to be within Conte's plans. While Premier League teams may be interested in him, Alli will certainly seize the opportunity to play under Pochettino again.

Adama Traore – moved from Wolves to Tottenham

Conte seems to be interested in Wolves' Traore, who has repeatedly offered to travel to North London. While playing for Barca, former Tottenham boss Sherwood pursued Traore. Tottenham still appear to need to recover as the players introduced by former boss Nuno in the summer have not had the desired effect. Traore may not be the only new member to join Tottenham in January, but he may be the one that makes the most sense.

Jesse Lingard – Move from Manchester United to West Ham

Jesse Lingard is another player linked to Tottenham, but fans of another London team hope they haven't pulled out of the fight yet. Jesse Lingard did well on loan at West Ham last season, scoring nine goals to bring himself back to the national team, but since he returned to his original club, everything has not gone as planned.

In 2022, the 29-year-old played just five minutes in the first team and is keen to leave Old Trafford after his summer contract expires. While there may be plenty of invitations to Jesse Lingard, Jesse Lingard seems to have enjoyed his football career in East London and he can return to where he left off through a permanent transfer.

Hydara – moved from Leipzig to Manchester United

Speaking of Manchester United, it's hard to ignore the huge neon sign that says "we need a new midfielder". Interim manager Ronnick said despite United's victory over the weekend, they still had problems with possession and a united midfielder could somehow solve that. Hydara is one of the players who has been in contact with United for some time, in part because of his previous relationship with Ronnick. With Haidara ending the Africa Cup of Nations ahead of the next round of the Premier League, the two still have time for a final engagement.
