The long and bitter road of the old city of Jerusalem, the last 14 stops of Jesus' life

Visiting israel's Old City of Jerusalem is the highlight of our trip to Israel because there are so many historical stories and heavy pasts. We spent almost two days touring and viewing the famous Mount of Olives, the WrangLe, the Wailing Wall, the Temple Mount, etc. in the Old City of Jerusalem, which constitute the history and changes of the Old City of Jerusalem for more than 2,000 years. If you go through all these places, you will have a basic understanding of Jerusalem's past and present.

Today, let's talk about the bitter road. In Jerusalem, the two most important holy places in Christianity are the Bitter Road and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. In fact, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is also counted as part of the Bitter Road. Therefore, the BitterRoot is the most important Christian pilgrimage site in Jerusalem.

The Bitter Road is actually a major street that runs through the Old City of Jerusalem. The origin of the bitter road is the process of Jesus walking along the streets of the Old City of Jerusalem after being sentenced to sin and death by the Romans, carrying a heavy cross. On the way, Jesus fell several times and was repeatedly whipped by Roman soldiers. Finally, Jesus died on the crucifixion and was immediately resurrected.

On this long and arduous road, Jesus stopped fourteen times, and each time a story was left. These fourteen stops became the fourteen stops of today's bitter road. In order to commemorate the fourteen times jesus stayed on the bitter road, various churches and memorial buildings were built at each place of stay. Every April, devout Catholics come to Jerusalem from all over the world to imitate the religious practice of Jesus' crucifixion, also known as the "Way of The Passion."

We are guided along the Bitter Road in the Old City of Jerusalem. At each stop, you will see a bronze circular plaque on the building of this station, on which the number of this station is engraved in Roman characters, a fourteen. Although the road is not long, there are many stories, which deeply touch the people who come.

The Old City of Jerusalem was destroyed eight times, and the current Bitter Road was built more than 200 years ago. Every Friday at 2 p.m., the priests of the churches along the way have to go through the drudgery. Thousands of people prayed and sang the scriptures one stop at a time, and read the relevant chapters of the Bible in Latin, Greek and English.
