The Man Who Doesn't Take Off His Socks is a romantic comedy film produced by Eryou Film Production Co., Ltd., directed by Chen You and starring Zhong Zhentao and Maggie Cheung, released in Hong Kong on September 7, 1989.

Set against the backdrop of the 1967 Hong Kong "June 7 Riots", the film tells the story of Miss Wong, a woman who had just arrived in the metropolis, and Ah Gong, a taxi driver, who lived in the same building, and the two had a relationship because they were inadvertently involved in street riots, supported each other, and finally had a lover who eventually became a family.

In April 1990, the film won the Best Actress Award, the Best Cinematography Award and the Best Art Direction Award at the 9th Hong Kong Film Awards.

In the late 1960s, a left-wing riot swept through Hong Kong, and the situation was turbulent. Miss Wong, a country girl who comes to Hong Kong, covets vanity and longs to become a star one day, but is unwilling to exchange her efforts for opportunities. Ah Gong is a white-card driver who wants to own his own car early and become a taxi owner, but he is hired by Mrs. Gu, who has an empty heart, for a long time and becomes his lover. Miss Huang and Ah Gong live next to each other, each knowing each other's secrets, but they have a long-term relationship and gradually fall in love with each other. Miss Huang, who has experienced setbacks in the starry way, is determined to sell her property and buy a taxi with Ah Gong to do business to pay off the debt. Unfortunately, the "June 7 Riot" taxi drivers joint strike, the car was burned by the strikers, and the two fell into trouble again. In the end, Mrs. Gu paid off the debt for Ah Gong, but Miss Huang went to the United States with her married agent.
