Leshan rescues a homeless elderly man from another province
"I really didn't expect that behind this deaf-mute old man, there was such a twisted story." On May 6, Wei Yaxing, head of the business section of the Leshan City Rescue Management Station in Sichuan Province, recalled in an interview with reporters that on October 28, 2020, the Leshan City Rescue Management Station received a call, and some citizens said that a homeless person was found in the square under the Minjiang First Bridge bridge in the Central District of Leshan City.
"When we arrived, we saw an old man lying in a battery car, sleeping." Wei Yaxing told reporters that after observation, the old man was a deaf and mute person with good mental health, but he could not provide effective personal information, and could only use physical comparison. Because the elderly cannot standardize sign language, although the aid station has invited a sign language teacher, it is still impossible to communicate with them, which increases the difficulty of finding relatives.

A search video helped a lot
Half a year passed, and the deadlock was broken by a video: On April 17 this year, the Leshan Rescue Management Station posted Wang Shengfu's search for relatives on the station's official Douyin account, and soon forwarded it to the national rescue system.
Wei Yaxing told reporters that the national public security system has a "Ma Yimin family search studio", its staff took the lead in seeing this video message, they obtained a portrait of Wang Shengfu through screenshots, and soon got the cooperation of the public security system provincial website personnel, after photo identity comparison, on April 19, the good news came, this person is suspected of being from Shenyang City.
"After receiving the news, we contacted the Shenyang rescue department for help and support at the first time." Wei Yaxing said.
The reporter verified and learned from the Shenyang Rescue Management Station that with the joint efforts of the station and multiple departments, Ms. Wang was finally contacted after several twists and turns. Subsequently, the staff of the Shenyang Rescue Management Station added Ms. Wang's WeChat and forwarded the video of the search, and Ms. Wang cried with joy in the face of the image of her father on the video.
On the morning of April 23, Wang Shengfu's father and daughter, who had been separated for 13 years, were reunited at the Leshan City Rescue Management Station.
