This bridge is the Taihe special bridge of the Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed railway under construction; two generations, it is the bridge builders Zhang Yaxi, Ji Xiang and their respective fathers Daniel Zhang and Ji Guanghua.

"The happiest thing in my life is that my grandfather, father and I are all in the same unit, and the most fortunate thing is to harvest my friendship, affection and love here." On November 9, in Taihe County, Anhui Province, on the Huaibei Plain, the Taihe Special Bridge of the Shanghe-Hangzhou High-speed Railway spanned the Luofu Railway 100 meters continuous beams 215# and 216# piers at the same time horizontally turned 34° and then accurately docked. Watching the bridge "hold hands" in the air, Zhang Yaxi sent several on-site photos to her sick and hospitalized husband Ji Xiang, and told reporters about their family's indissoluble relationship with the bridge.

I call my father "Uncle."

The days always rushed by, and in my childhood, the only vague thing was my father. When I first learned the language, I saw my father open his mouth and called him uncle. In the years when I was with my father, I was accompanied by the back of his departure and the tears in the corners of my mother's eyes. This made me "remember" this person I never saw all year round in my childhood and adolescence.

My father was an ordinary member of China's tens of millions of transportation construction troops. From the day he took the hammer and steel braze in his grandfather's hand, he left his mother and me and struggled alone. When I was 8 years old, I went to the construction site where my father worked for the first time in the summer vacation, when I was 8 years old. When the train arrived at the station, there was no shadow of him on the platform. "How busy is he, he doesn't know if my mom and I are coming?" In the hours that followed, my little mouth Pouted and refused to let go. I felt full of resentment that my father did not love me at all. I couldn't take care of the boat and the car, stubbornly, as soon as I got out of the car, I shouted that my mother would take me to find this "iron heart" person, I wanted to question the man in person, and I don't remember that he had a lover and a daughter.

Outside the deep tunnel opening, I tiptoed and stretched my neck out to look deep into the mountains. The waiting made me pout my mouth again and complain, "Why don't you leave work?" Why hasn't it come out yet? If you don't come out again, I'll never pay attention to you again." I can't remember how long it was, when suddenly someone tapped me from behind. I turned around, and a smiling, oily and muddy man stood in front of me, and I sensed from my mother's joy and tender eyes that he was the father, but until now I don't know why I didn't rush up to him to give him a hug, call out to my father, but give him a small mouth full of gambling.

In the cold and summer, my father always missed various important moments in my life, and I grew up slowly with complaints and thoughts about my father. I remember one year on my birthday, when the bell rang 12, my mother took me in her arms and said, "Make 12 wishes." I repeated 12 identical words in my heart: "My father came home for the New Year, my father came home for the New Year..." But that New Year's Eve was still us on the phone, and my father was on the other end of the phone...

From that year on, I always had a lingering question in my mind: Was Dad really so busy at work? Is Dad's job really important? Why is there no time to take care of the family after work?

Stubborn choice

In 2014, when I graduated from university, I stubbornly walked into my father's unit, China Railway Tunnel Bureau Group, and became a financial officer. At the time, I didn't understand why I had to make that choice. Maybe I want to find out for myself what "blocked" me and my father, and maybe I wanted to tell my father with actions that even in the same unit, I can take care of my future family.

The first project with my father was the Hefu high-speed railway. My memory when I first went was that my father's phone was unusually busy, and there were only a few opportunities for the two of us to eat together. Sometimes it was difficult to eat with him, and an urgent phone call made him put down the dishes and chopsticks, hurried to the construction site more than ten kilometers away, and did not even say goodbye. With a blank face, I looked at the back of my father's orange overalls printed with the words "China Railway Tunnel Bureau Group", and slowly disappeared into the field of vision, and my heart was no longer complaining, but unwilling.

As the working hours increased, I slowly learned that many colleagues and seniors were far away from home and loved ones, fighting on the construction site all year round. Some people have not returned home for a year in order to rush the construction period and catch up with the progress. Some people say that the time at the construction site also passes quickly, but the night at the construction site is very long. "Acquaintances know what day it is, at this time this night is embarrassing", night falls, acacia is long, and most of the people who comfort the thoughts are a photo, a phone call or a video. Thinking back to many years ago, my father was probably like this, sleeping on his pillow at night, and the next day he threw himself into work with high morale. It is precisely because groups of builders like their fathers work day and night, and bridges, tunnels, and roads can be smoothly built. Looking at the smiles on everyone's faces after the successful completion of each project node, I admired their selfless and fearless efforts from the bottom of my heart, and gradually understood the railway builders like my father. They are all using their silent dedication to interpret the responsibilities and responsibilities that a man should have.

Grandpa's steel braze was passed on to me

On June 28, 2015, the day the Hefu high-speed railway was opened, my father was in a good mood, poured a glass of wine, sat in front of the TV set and watched the news broadcast report the good news of the opening of the train, his slightly drunken face, and the corners of his wrinkled eyes seemed to have tears flickering. After a cup of belly, my father called me to his side:, do you sometimes blame your father... Dad knew that the years before had suffered your mom and you. When I was young, your grandfather was out all year round, and I didn't understand it at that time. Later, I took the steel braze in your grandfather's hand, took the shift, and went to the post to understand your grandfather's responsibility and difficulty. You have now completed your internship for one year and have truly become a member of the China Railway Tunnel Bureau, in fact, I have always been very happy in my heart, proud of you, proud of you..."

That day, the father was happy like a child, so rough that his hands were tightly holding me and saying this and that. Looking at my father's unconcealed joy, I truly knew that I had no other reason for coming to the China Railway Tunnel Bureau, because my father, such as the steel shovel that my grandfather passed to my father, and my father passed "it" to me.

Love work as much as I love you

In the blink of an eye, I have been working in the China Railway Tunnel Bureau for 3 years, and I went from the Hefu high-speed rail project to the Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed rail project with my father. In 2015 "May Fourth" Youth Day, the league organization held a on-site visit and learning activity for the members of the league, and I went to visit another project. The first time I stood under a huge bridge, I was blown away. Turning around, in the sun, he was wearing an orange-red overalls and was explaining the construction blueprint under the bridge. At the moment when the four eyes were facing each other, I could feel that he, like my father, had his own deep love for this project. His name is Ji Xiang, which may be destined in the dark, I will fall in love with a man who fights like a father on the front line of the construction site.

Love is sweet, but the love of the engineer has more of a hard work of reinforced concrete. Ji Xiang's project, which is responsible for the prefabrication of 900 tons of box girders, gave up the opportunity of technical supervisor and soon to be transferred to the engineering minister in order not to distract us and worry, and transferred to the Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed rail project as an ordinary technician.

In the Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed rail project, I live in the first division and Jixiang lives in the fourth division. Although the distance is only 3.5 kilometers, we have not seen each other for most of the month. I didn't blame him, as he said: "You are as important as my work, I love my work as much as I love you, and if we can't take advantage of our youth, we will definitely regret it in our twilight years." ”

Doze off when walking

Ji Xiang's father, Ji Guanghua, was the chief engineer of the Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed rail project department of the China Railway Tunnel Bureau. The most difficult project of our project is the 100-meter continuous beam rotation of the Taihe Special Bridge across the Luofu Railway. This is the first time in the history of our China Railway Tunnel Bureau that the high-speed rail turning beam construction has been carried out. In order to ensure the success of the transfer, he has been busy instructing the technicians to prepare technical data, sleeping less than 5 hours a day for a month. In his own words: "Sometimes you have to doze off when you walk." ”

He was tired because of the intense work, and in the early morning of September 20, he was admitted to the hospital because of a mild cerebral infarction. The doctor told him to rest well, adjust his mood, and relax, which can help in the treatment of the disease. After two days in the hospital, he couldn't sit still and strongly demanded to be discharged. As soon as he was discharged from the hospital, he went straight to the site of the turn beam site to check the bridge deck monitoring data and check the technical preparations before the turnaround, not at all like a person who was still lying on the bed yesterday and dripping. Everyone persuaded him to go back to rest, but he smiled easily: "Minor injuries can not reach the line of fire, now is the most critical moment, I want to complete this mission with my brothers, we also have to drink celebratory wine together." ”

Moments of happiness are connected to moments of happiness

October 18 is the day of the victory of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and it is also the day when the key technologies and on-site work of the construction before the turn beam are turned. With the blessings of my colleagues, I entered the marriage hall with my lover. At the wedding, the father-in-law and father proudly joked that today the two children are married, and next month we will have two children in the air to "hold hands".

Seeing the proud looks of the elders, I understood their words "every project, every project is alive". Watching the project extend one meter at a time is like watching your children grow up day by day, and who doesn't love their children? How many times have they hoarse, worn out their hands, and boiled their eyes; how many times have they cooled their children's dates for the "children" of the construction site, forgetting the gifts their children had been waiting for for a long time.

On November 9, after 60 consecutive minutes of operation, the two "children" of the father-in-law and the father-in-law - the 100-meter continuous beam 215# and 216# pier rotation beam of the Shanghe-Hangzhou high-speed railway across the Luofu Railway were accurately combined in the air, and successfully "held hands".
