Synopsis:

Hemingway' Farewell, Weapon

Weapons represent war, "War sucks!" "Hemingway repeatedly expressed his disgust and hatred of war through the mouths of many people in his novels." There is a kind of person who tries to create war. ... There is also a kind of person who is unwilling to create war. But the first kind of people will certainly force them to fight. "War has brought ordinary people in. Instead of depicting the scenes of war in a positive way, the cruelty of war is revealed through the scenes of soldier casualties. The whole book is permeated with pessimism and nihilism.

The book is divided into five parts

The first part mainly describes the experience of injuries on the battlefield.

The second part depicts a love story with a nurse in a hospital.

The third part deals with the scene of the evacuation after the return of the troops.

The fourth part describes the experience of fleeing to Switzerland with a lover.

The fifth part tells the story of a short life with a lover and the end of a hemorrhagic death.

Hemingway' Farewell, Weapon

- Hemingway seems to like to start with a description of the scenery, which is very graphic.

Hemingway' Farewell, Weapon

——The ending is concise, at this time silence is better than sound, and mourning is greater than heart death.

The characters are vividly depicted

Hemingway' Farewell, Weapon

Psychological depictions are delicate and vivid

Hemingway' Farewell, Weapon

There are large passages of dialogue in the book, and the difference between who said it is sometimes a bit difficult.

—— Didn't understand the emotions in this description too much, is it ridicule? Or jealousy? Still angry? The last sentence seems dispensable, but why should the author write it? And Renati's reaction is so flat, as if it is not normal, what to show?

The protagonist's relationship with the family is occasionally mentioned in the novel, except for the "check that is paid at the sight of the ticket" and the grandfather, and no more is mentioned. Just vaguely confessed" (feelings) were good at first, but unfortunately, there were more quarrels and quarrels later, and the feelings slowly faded. "When I think of them, I get annoyed." I don't know if it has any deep meaning.

"Then I was injured and it (the statue of St. Anthony) could not be found. I guess it was probably taken away by someone else in the bandaging station."

- Is it not to say that icons do not bless peace? But the soldiers still wanted peace.

The nothingness of war —

The above paragraphs show that participating in the war does not seem to have any special significance, and ordinary people are just wrapped up in it.

The black humor of a war-weary soldier in the novel is impressive. He deliberately lost the hernia belt and tried to use it to be admitted to the hospital because he did not have a medical record card. I advised him to "find a way to bang his head against a bag." When he reached the agreed place, "the steel helmet on his head had fallen off, and his forehead was bleeding." "But it's no longer useful, the troops he belongs to have come to pick him up."

The text borrows many people to say many times:

"The war sucks."

"There will be nothing worse than war"

"It's even worse if you lose."

The cruelty of the wounded wounded scene:

Oh my God, Lord, shoot me fast.

The medics rolled up their sleeves to their shoulders, covered in blood, like butchers.

A few of the wounded were moaning softly, but most were silent.

He (the doctor) moves lightly, but his face shows a look of disgust. ------------------------------------

Hemingway' Farewell, Weapon

Excerpt a few words:

I didn't want to love her, because I didn't want to love anyone at all, but who knew I was in love with her.

Because there are so many friends in wartime.

But until this moment, I suddenly realized that in fact, I was not as indispensable as I thought.

There is nothing in the world that can be escaped, absolutely not.
