Millennium Dunhuang: A gentle vein of mountains and springs symbiosis

Historically, Dunhuang was the throat of the ancient Silk Road and an important military town. When you come to Dunhuang, you must see the Mogao Grottoes. Mogao Caves, commonly known as the "Thousand Buddhas Cave", is located 25 kilometers southeast of Dunhuang City, Gansu Province, at the eastern foot of Mingsha Mountain and on the west bank of the Tangquan River, with a total length of 1680 meters from north to south. As one of the four major grottoes in China, Mogao Grottoes was excavated in 366 AD, with a history of 1655 years, and was rated as the first batch of world cultural heritage in China in 1987, which is the largest surviving Buddhist art relics with the longest history, the richest content and the most exquisite art in the world.

Mingsha Mountain is made of quicksand piled up, named because the sand moves into a sound, lean down, look closely, the fine sand has red, yellow, green, black, white five colors. In the arms of the peaks of Mingsha Mountain, there is a pool of blue water, which is named Crescent Spring because it resembles a crescent moon. Stroll through the crescent spring, sparkling blue waves, reeds moving with the wind, a different charm. (People's Daily reporter Zhao Guangxia)
