Zhu Fenglian: Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and this is a fact that no one or any force can change

Beijing, 15 Sep (Taiwan) -- The Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference this morning, and Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, presided over the press conference.

Hong Kong Phoenix Satellite TV: When Tsai Ing-wen recently attended the so-called "security dialogue" speech, she said that she "looks forward to coexisting with neighboring countries under the principle of peace, stability, and mutual coexistence." Some analysts or comments believe that Tsai Ing-wen's "neighbors" are referring to the mainland.

Zhu Fenglian: You may have noticed that on the one hand, they are making all kinds of small moves, and on the other hand, the MAC has said that it is necessary to promote positive cross-strait interaction. These words and deeds contradict themselves.

First of all, I would like to stress that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China, and cross-strait relations are not state-to-state relations. The DPP authorities' remarks with the "two-state theory" and their constant provocation of seeking "independence" will only further undermine peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait and bring profound disasters to the broad masses of Taiwan compatriots. Wanton provocations and evil deeds will inevitably lead to just action.

Promoting the peaceful development of cross-strait relations is the mainstream public opinion on both sides of the strait, and the key lies in the fact that both sides adhere to the "1992 Consensus" that embodies the one-China principle, which is the political foundation of cross-strait relations. Only when the DPP authorities abandon their separatist stand on "Taiwan independence" and return to the political foundation of the "1992 Consensus" can cross-strait relations return to the right track of peaceful development.
