From a middle and high school chemistry teacher to a vocational high school principal, from the deputy director of the Ningbo Zhenhai District Education Bureau to the principal of Zhenhai Middle School, Wu Guoping has never left education since he began his career in 1980.
What is education? What kind of people should education cultivate? In 1994, at the age of 34, Wu Guoping became the principal of the Zhenhai District Vocational and Technical School with his thoughts on education. In August 2000, Wu Guoping was appointed as the principal of Zhenhai Middle School. At that time, Zhenhai Middle School, due to the readjustment of administrative divisions and other reasons, faced with various difficulties and challenges such as intensified competition in running schools, a sharp decline in the scope of student origin, the lack of outstanding teachers, and the shrinking of development space, many people were worried that Zhenhai Middle School would henceforth decline and stagnate, and some parents even tried to send their children to famous schools in the central city of Ningbo, Hangzhou and even Shanghai.

In the face of huge pressure from all sides, Wu Guoping, who has never served as an ordinary high school management worker, is unusually determined in his heart. As a century-old famous school, if the college entrance examination promotion rate is not good, why should parents send their children with confidence? But if the child is only for further education, and his own quality is not improved, in my opinion, it is also unsuccessful. With regard to educational reform, Wu Guoping held that in running education, it is necessary to proceed from respecting the laws of education and teaching and the law of students' physical and mental development, and education management should properly handle the relationship between educational ideals and educational reality, commonality and personality, history and reality, inheritance and innovation, politics and education, etc. At the same time, teachers should be placed in the first place and the enthusiasm and initiative of teachers should be fully mobilized.
