Is it often possible to encounter problems like this?
Why don't Phalaenopsis orchids be planted with dirt?

Why are the cyclamen petals upturned?

Answer it one by one for everyone.~
Q1: Why don't Phalaenopsis orchids be planted with mud?
Unlike the commonly referred to as the orchid (for the ground orchid), phalaenopsis orchid is an epiphytic orchid that lives in the tropics. Epiphysis means that it does not grow in the soil, but attaches to the trunk of the plant or grows on other objects. On jungle trunks at low elevations in tropical Asia, Phalaenopsis orchids attach to them with their thick aerophytes. Under the condition of artificial cultivation, if you want Phalaenopsis orchids to grow well, the cultivation medium should also be based on loose and breathable materials, while ensuring sufficient air humidity, and at the same time, according to different growth stages, it is also necessary to artificially apply the required nutrients.
Q2: Is poinsettia a flower or a leaf?
As long as you take a closer look, you will find that in the middle of the red "petals" is the structure of ordinary branches, and the tops of these branches and their branches are its real inflorescences. At the same time, the clear "leaf veins" and the faint green will make you wonder: Is the most beautiful red "petal" actually a leaf?
In fact, poinsettia leaves are always green until the flowering period arrives, and will gradually turn red until the flowering period, and the purpose of this is to make the leaves closest to the inflorescence play a role in attracting pollinators, while the real petals are extremely simplified. Isn't poinsettia using a few unchanging leaves to replace the work of making individual petals for each flower, but "economical" when you think about it?
Q3: What is the upturned petals of cyclamen?
Cyclamen plant is beautiful, the flowers are luxuriant, the flowers are gorgeous, some species also have a sweet fragrance, loved by the general public, as a popular New Year flower, people often buy a pot to decorate the flower stand, a few cases, desks and other places. The most attractive thing about Cyclamen is its unique flower shape: its petals are no different from other flowers when they have not yet opened, but after opening, they will strongly fold 90-180 degrees, becoming a "monk's hat", and like a cute rabbit ear, therefore, Cyclamen is also called a rabbit ear flower, a turning lotus.
You may ask, why do cyclamen flowers flip their petals upwards? Regarding the problem of plants, we need to put them back to the place of origin to think, otherwise we will only "ask for fish from the wood". Scientists have revealed through the study of two wild cyclamen populations in Israel that cyclamen pollinators were a large bee that would hang upside down and grasp the flowers, "shake" the pollen out by vibrating their wings at a certain frequency, collecting the pollen they needed at the same time, and also completing the cross-pollination for cyclamen between different plants.
The study also revealed that for unknown reasons, the large bees, which co-evolved with cyclamen, eventually went extinct. Today, various non-professional pollinators such as thrips, aphid-eating flies, and small bees quickly fill this niche, continuing to help cyclamen to complete the population's reproduction.
