Okikata Din, who served as a novelist in the manga, and Hiroyuki Setita, the theatrical supervisor, are all keen fans of BLAME!, which is also sought after by overseas readers.
On the occasion of the release of the Blu-ray version of the theatrical anime "BLAME!", Japanese media outlet Natalie interviewed supervisor Hiroyuki Setoshita, deputy superintendent Naohiro Yoshihira, and music supervisor Mikazu Iwanami. 3 mentioned that BLAME was the first animation in the industry to feature Dolby Atmos and use presocring. When it comes to audio, this work is also the first time to use Dolby Atmos, most of the previous works are front and back left and right channels, and Dolby Atmos is to emphasize the stereoscopic feeling of sound. Yoshihei further explained that because the animation uses a 3D approach, the characters are configured in a 360° stereoscopic space model. Therefore, the sound team needs to configure the appropriate music based on this practice. Iwanami said that the previous "Gravity" (2013, The United States) used this technology, and at that time felt that Japanese films had to be used, otherwise they would fall behind. At present, there are few theaters in Japan that support Dolby Atmos. There are only three panoramic sound theaters in "BLAEM!", namely MIDLAND SQUARE CINEMA in Nagoya, Aeon Cinema Makuhari Shintoshin, and Earth Cinemas Himeji.
