People's Daily Xiamen, January 20 (Zhang Meng) On the 20th, accompanied by the long sound of the ship whistle, the orange-red bridge crane at the Xiamen Port Hairun Container Terminal site automatically ran, slowly lifting a 40-foot container from the giant ship, gently crossing the ship's side, and landing steadily on the blue automatic driving collection card (IGV), after a series of smooth and orderly operations, the intelligent gantry crane finally put the container on the IGV accurately and smoothly on the designated field box. This also marks the official trial production of the first traditional container terminal full-process intelligent transformation project in China.

According to reports, in order to actively respond to the national "Outline for the Construction of a Transportation Powerhouse" and implement the spirit of the important instructions of the superior on "striving to build a world-class smart port and green port", Xiamen Port has taken the lead in the road of smart green port construction, boldly explored the integration and docking of port equipment automation and container smart logistics platform, and strived to achieve the intelligence of the whole logistics chain. In July 2020, with Hairun Terminal as a pilot, Xiamen Port took the lead in launching the first intelligent transformation and innovation project of the whole port area and the whole operation chain of the traditional container terminal in China.

After more than 500 days and nights, under the premise of not changing the layout of the yard and not changing the operation process of the terminal, Xiamen Port, while ensuring production, intelligently transformed and upgraded the existing bridge crane and tire-type gantry crane of Hairun Wharf, applied the most advanced IGV in the industry for plane transportation, independently developed the terminal "super brain" intelligent production management system (i-TOS), built the country's first physically isolated industrial control level 5G private network, and integrated the use of cutting-edge technologies such as Internet of Things, Beidou navigation, ai, etc. Finally, the operation instruction issuance, container loading and unloading, plane transportation, yard operation and other links will be "intelligent" to lead and connect with the container intelligent logistics platform, and the terminal operation management intelligence will be extended to the whole container logistics chain.

According to the staff, the intelligent dock is still a mechanical operation scene of the dock on the surface, but its internal changes have undergone fundamental changes. Taking the common gantry crane operation as an example, in the past, the gantry crane driver had to climb up to the equipment nearly 30 meters high with his bare hands and bend down in the cab with limited space. After intelligent transformation, the driver can sit in a spacious and bright office, through the screen, the operation handle can be. This can not only easily realize the operation of multiple equipment by one person, but also reduce the workload by more than 50%, which has greatly improved the working environment, safety and reliability of operation.

It is reported that since the launch of the fully intelligent transformation of the traditional container terminals in Xiamen Port, it has attracted the attention of all parties, and has won the "First Prize of Scientific and Technological Progress of the China Port Association" and the Excellence Award of the National Finals of the Fourth "Bloom Cup" 5G Application Competition. In August 2021, the project was also included in the "Action Plan for the Construction of New Infrastructure in the Field of Transportation (2021-2025)" as a key project for smart port construction, becoming a demonstration project of "taking points with faces" and promoting the intelligent transformation and upgrading of ports nationwide.

It is worth mentioning that since the implementation of the project for more than a year, Xiamen Port has "transformed and produced while" and has always maintained the normal docking of ships at the wharf. The data shows that in 2021, the container throughput of Xiamen Port exceeded 12 million TEUs, an increase of more than 5% year-on-year. Among them, the throughput of Hairun Terminal was 1,001,300 TEUs, an increase of 2.16% year-on-year, and the amount of intelligent equipment operation exceeded 40%. Since the project entered trial operation at the end of 2021, the stability of the system and the overall operation efficiency have exceeded expectations.

The relevant person in charge of the Xiamen Port Administration said that the Xiamen Port route has reached 141 ports in 50 countries and regions around the world, which is not only the core shipping hub of China's southeast coast, but also an important window for Fujian Province to open up to the outside world. The port will aim to build a world-class smart port and a green port, continue to promote the digital transformation and upgrading of the port, and rely on green wisdom to promote the port industry to take the lead in modernization.
