The Beijing Winter Olympics Organizing Committee signed a memorandum of cooperation on anti-doping intelligence with international inspection agencies and relevant departments

Beijing News Express (reporter Wu Wei) On January 20, the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the International Inspection Agency, the State General Administration of Sports, the Ministry of Public Security, the General Administration of Customs, and the China Anti-Doping Center jointly signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to cooperate in anti-doping information and intelligence.

Zhang Jiandong, executive vice chairman of the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee, expressed his gratitude to the international inspection agencies and relevant departments for their strong support for the anti-doping work of the Beijing Winter Olympics. The signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation fully demonstrates the attitude of the Chinese government and the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee towards "zero tolerance" for doping. It is hoped that all parties will strengthen cooperation on the basis of this memorandum, form an effective information exchange and communication mechanism, and jointly host a Winter Olympics as pure and clean as ice and snow.

Dr. Valerie Fuernellon, Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Inspection Agency Foundation, said the Memorandum of Cooperation underscores the commitment of the signatories to a fair and non-doping ban on the Winter Olympics. We are pleased that the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Chinese government department and the international inspection agencies has been reached. If there are any potential doping activities during the Beijing Winter Olympics, the Memorandum of Cooperation will ensure smooth communication channels and effective information exchange between the parties.

According to the Memorandum of Cooperation, all parties will establish an anti-doping investigation information and intelligence sharing system to cooperate in the field of jointly cracking down on doping violations, so as to play a role in discovering and deterring doping violations, protect the physical and mental health of athletes, maintain fair competition in sports competitions, and ensure the smooth progress of the Beijing Winter Olympic Games.
