On January 20, Pinduoduo and Midea Group reached a strategic cooperation with an annual scale of more than 10 billion yuan. According to the agreement, the two sides will also carry out full-link cooperation in the fields of product customization, channel expansion, brand building, digital technology, and intelligent manufacturing, and jointly promote the integration of digital reality.

As the head brand of China's manufacturing industry, Midea's products have been stationed in Pinduoduo as early as 2016. In March 2021, Midea's Little Swan brand reached a cooperation agreement with Pinduoduo with an annual sales volume of 1 million units, and this strategic cooperation means a comprehensive upgrade of cooperation between the two sides.

According to the agreement, all of Midea's brands, including Midea, Little Swan, Hualing, Cuckoo, comfee and other products, will be stationed on the Pinduoduo platform. In addition, Midea will also launch special customized products for platform users to provide consumers with more high-quality domestic products.

"Since moving in, midea's product sales have grown at a compound annual growth rate of 300%. In the past year, the Little Swan brand has achieved explosive growth from 0 to 2 billion on the platform. Wei Zhiqiang, vice president of Midea Group China, said that in the new consumption period, Pinduoduo has become a new driving force made in China, and Midea Group will further lay out the Pinduoduo platform, give full play to the advantages of entity enterprises and Internet companies, and achieve win-win development.

"In the high-end home appliance market, Pinduoduo has huge consumption potential. In the coming year, it is expected that Midea's full range of products will continue to maintain rapid growth. According to Liang Ye, vice president of Pinduoduo, in order to help more manufacturing brands achieve digital upgrading, Pinduoduo not only set up a special team to provide one-on-one support, but also focused on product research and development, brand building, digital technology and other fields.

In order to continue to promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy, Pinduoduo officially launched the "2022 Duoduo New National Tide" action on January 15, and jointly launched the first season of "New National Tide Consumption Season" in conjunction with more than 100 domestic brands.

During the first quarter of the consumption season, Pinduoduo also set up a special area for domestic brands, focusing on the selection of traditional manufacturing brands such as home appliances, 3C, clothing, daily chemicals, and medical care for special support, and continued to help manufacturing brands embrace new consumption and achieve new intelligent manufacturing.

In the coming year, Pinduoduo will also accelerate the digital upgrading of the real economy in four aspects:

First, unite 100 industrial belts to help at least 1,000 national tide brands, cutting-edge brands, and long-established brands embrace new consumption;

Second, invest in the "support resource package" of tens of billions of yuan to cultivate 10 billion new national tide brands and 100 billion national tide brands;

Third, set up a special team to start the second kill support plan and the 10 billion subsidy star-making plan to provide customized solutions for the national tide brand;

Fourth, carry out a new model of full-link cooperation and promote the digital upgrading of brands at the production, technology, data and management levels.

"With the maturity of China's manufacturing and supply chain, the independent research and development capabilities and industrial design capabilities of domestic brands have also made great progress, and the new consumption period will be a good opportunity for the further rise of Chinese local brands."
