IGN score: 7, good
Rainbow Six: Xenotrope brings some nice new ideas to this well-respected FPS game, turning it into a sci-fi co-op game, but it's clearly not unique enough to make it stand out.
summary
Rainbow Six: Xenomorph is one of Ubisoft's most daring games in recent years, not only abandoning the series of old-fashioned military realism for a wonderful and bizarre universe full of infiltration and parasitic invasion, but it also incorporates a large number of mechanics dedicated to making us fear death. Going back to a failed mission, desperately trying to pry away the corpses of my teammates from the festering tribe, was one of the most exciting maneuvers I've ever tried in a co-op video game.
However, the setting of Xenomorph quickly bored me, and its recurring missions, while well designed, didn't provide enough curiosity to return like other similar games. As a result, Xenomorph is more of a gorgeous, perfectly executed expansion pack than a brand new game.
