Rio de Janeiro, 19 Jan (Xinhua) -- On 19 January, the Municipal Government of Fortaleza, Brazil, held a video exchange meeting with the Dalian Municipal Government of The Chinese sister city to exchange views and discuss the transformation, management, and maintenance of the old city.

Cheng Yingjun, head of the Dalian Foreign Affairs Office, said that the transformation of the old city is a common problem faced by the city's economic and social development, and hoped that the two sides would take this video exchange meeting as an opportunity to continue to tap the potential of cooperation in the fields of big data and environmental protection and emission reduction, further deepen pragmatic cooperation, benefit the people of the two cities, and boost the development of China-Pakistan relations.

Fortaleza Deputy Mayor Hercio Batista said the two sides have a lot in common in the transformation of old and old towns, such as putting people first, maintaining traditional style and stimulating innovation. In 2019, Fortaleza was named a Creative City by UNESCO, and I believe that we can strengthen exchanges and references with Dalian in the future.
