North Korea decided to impose an amnesty, which came into effect on January 30

According to a report by the KCNA on the 20th local time, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Kim Il-sung's birth and the 80th anniversary of Kim Jong-il's birth, the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea decided to impose a general amnesty on those convicted. The amnesty will be officially implemented from 30 January 2022. The DPRK Cabinet and relevant organs will take measures to make the freed persons feel at ease about their work and life.

The Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK issued the relevant decree.
