According to Tianyancha data, there are nearly 19,000 VR-related enterprises in the mainland, nearly 80% of which have been established within 5 years, and 50% of which have registered capital of more than 5 million.

From the perspective of regional distribution, Guangdong Province has the largest number of VR-related enterprises, with more than 5700. Jiangsu Province temporarily ranks second with more than 1300 related enterprises. In addition, there are more than 1,000 VR-related enterprises in Shandong Province.

It is worth mentioning that from the perspective of the number of patent applications, the total number of patent applications of VR-related enterprises in mainland China currently exceeds 62,000, and the proportion of invention patents is the largest, reaching 63%.

With the upgrading of hardware technology, the enrichment of software content and the optimization of 5G network environment, VR products have been widely used and recognized in industries such as games, tourism, education, medical care, and real estate. In March 2021, the outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan was officially released, and virtual reality (VR) became one of the key industries of the digital economy of "Building Digital China".

According to tianyancha data, in recent years, the development of VR-related enterprises in the mainland has developed rapidly, and more than 1900 VR-related enterprises have been established in 2016, and the annual registration growth rate in that year has reached 65%, the highest in the calendar year. In 2019, the number of annual registrations of VR-related enterprises exceeded 3,000 for the first time, and 3,400 VR-related enterprises were added in 2020. In 2021, more than 4,800 VR-related enterprises have been established, an increase of 52% year-on-year.
